One of the common features that appeal listeners is the fact that smartphone created engagement. People have never felt as much connected to the music as they do today. This is because innovative devices “allow our users to really engage and participate in creating expressive content versus simply streaming content that’s been created by a label and an artist” CITATION Mel17 \l 1033 (Daniels). Listeners feel more connected with the content and the songs. The simple process of stop and play allow people to change as many tracks as they can. This reflects that technological devices have also added to the convenience of the listeners. Carrying a mobile device in pockets is portable and continent for the people. They enjoy wearing earplugs with mobile devices. This also allows youth to create their impression of cool by carrying such innovative gadgets. Where more people with smartphones today, the ones relying on DVD’s seems odd.
The social network of music across different online platforms also played a profound role in changing the ways of listening to music. These platforms allow people across the world to share music and comment that makes them feel connected. This has also increased the element of joy associated with music. Digital platforms have further eased the ways of creating playlists of good songs. This is a useful way of engaging listeners socially. They comment on the songs or even share records from their playlists. Music apps are thus working to bring strangers together. This can also be used by artists for finding ways of increasing their interaction with the audience. The digital technology has also affected the ways of creating music. Before digital technology, the musicians required mastery skills for creating high-quality songs. But today technology is used for improving pitch and sound qualities that means little efforts are required from the singer CITATION Gre19 \l 1033 (Milner).

Even in public, today people prefer to carry electronic devices because it protects them from noise pollution. This also allows them to listen to their favorite songs. It protects them from the unnecessary arguments of playing the right song in the crowd. This tradition reflects "young people, usually, loud music corresponds very strongly to owning the space" CITATION Ale11 \l 1033 (Hudson). People enjoy having more free space and listening to their own playlist.
Although the ways of listening music have transformed with the emergence of technology it has also created anti-social attitudes.
