Problem
There are several social problems which are very crucial and needed to be researched and studied but according to my perception, the most critical and highly important social problem in the current situation in the world is Child Labor.
Child labor is an activity which includes involving or putting children in economic activities. This includes the engagement of children in economic activities for their families while they are in the age of playing (Edmonds, & Nina., pp. 199-220). The problem of child labor is seen in the entire world in a wider ray. No matter children are paid for the job they do but are still and highly wrong deed.
The problem of child labor has been chosen to be analyzed and researched because it is an important issue in the world. As well as the entire world puts efforts to resolve this problem and even eliminate the concept and practices of child labor from the earth. In addition, the problem has been picked because child labor has very bad and negative impacts on society and others who are not involved in it. Another thing about the problem is, the employer gets more from children and pay lower wages than other employees which is also a solid reason because of which this social issue has been chosen (Edmonds, & Nina., pp. 199-220).
Research Question
As described and listed above, there are many things which are connected with this social problem (child labor). But the important aspect which we are going to know about the issue or problem is to know the potential causes of the problem as well as what are it critical impacts on people, business or society (Basu, & Kaushik., pp. 1083-1119).
The research question would be;
Potential Causes of Child labor Problem and what are its Impacts on People, Business or Society?
In addition, the number of causes exist regarding the social problem of child labor but major causes around the entire globe are;
Poverty
Lower Living Standard of Poor People
Illiteracy and its Rates
Unemployment
In brief, if the above-mentioned issues have been settled and resolved then the world would have very less child labor problem.
Potential Effects of the Problem
It is an inhuman concept and practice which negatively affects children's mind
Providing no opportunity for children to get educated
The level and standard of living remain low and poor.
As children are the pillars for the future, so engaging them in economic activities means making these pillars, weak (Edmonds, & Nina., pp. 199-220).
Children who are involved in child labor don't get grown emotionally because child labor abolishes and destroy their childhood.
Research Methods to be used and Why
The most realistic and highly applicable research methods for answering our question are;
Surveys
Interviews
Case Studies
Survey
The survey is the process of gathering information through interviews, telephonic conversations and by other means from a large group of people (Bryman & Alan., n.p). The most useful and highly applicable as well as straightforward way is one short survey. This method has been found as an appropriate one because it will provide detailed information about a particular segment in a single way. As well as it will help us to study one sample at one time so that we could perform the research in a well-organized way.
Interviews
Interviews are the methods which are carried out in person. This is done mostly on face to face but can be performed through telephone or other sources too (Bryman & Alan., n.p). This method is the most appropriate methods for answering our research question because it will help us to gather highly accurate and realistic information by meeting involved people in the problem of child labor.
Case Studies
The case study is the methods in which, we will be involved in the comprehensive study and analysis of particular case(s) (Bryman & Alan., n.p). This method has been found as an appropriate method for answering the question because it provides results and information about past experiences that both organizations and people have faced. Beyond that, it also hints on how to resolve the problem by providing information about how others have catered the problem in past or recent time.
