What is right, what is wrong?
People usually abide by the laws to avoid inconvenience in their routine matters. This acceptance of state authority lessens the disruption which otherwise could be distressing for both the citizens and the state authorities. It is not every time that citizens are aware of every law, therefore they sometimes commit a crime just because of their ignorance about laws. This happens in very rare situations. Following mentioned are some activities which are normally don’t considered as crimes.
Activities which constitute a crime
There are many activities which are against the laws. These activities might be consistent with the federal laws of the United States, but the state's domestic laws consider them as crimes. In such cases, any person who is found committing such activity is, in fact, committing a crime. According to Duncan, activities which are in fact crime are as follow.
Being Vampire or acting like that: Being a vampire could be fun for some people, but some find it as a source of hate and fear ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"92VfYbXB","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Duncan 2001)","plainCitation":"(Duncan 2001)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":"uiuDmsdU/GPZlGToP","uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/s8f0QVnP/items/HJFKVAR9"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/s8f0QVnP/items/HJFKVAR9"],"itemData":{"id":1194,"type":"article-journal","title":"Domestic partnership laws in the United States: A review and critique","container-title":"BYU L. This is the reason that in Louisiana, it is a crime to act like a vampire. People think that acting in such a manner places their domestic society in chaos and fear. Therefore acting like a vampire can drag anyone to jail.
Wearing Mask or being in disguise: Wearing a mask provides the opportunity to commit activities by hiding identity. There are many reported criminal cases which suggest that the criminals have committed the crime in disguise. Therefore anyone in California who wears a mask or commit any activity in disguise will actually be committing a crime.
Buying or selling sex toys: Sex toys might be offensive for someone. Since there are people who are from different religious backgrounds and they find it against their norms to see or hold such toys. Therefore, to reduce the direct or indirect social interaction with sex toys, Georgia has made it illegal to have their possession. Since they are being used widely throughout the US, therefore people normally don’t consider it as a crime.
Activities which do not constitute a crime
Similarly, there are many activities which are not categorized as crimes, but people avoid doing such activities. The reason they avoid doing that involves hate acts or chances for violence eruption. Interestingly not every time speeches or any act of hate constitute a crime. Some example of these areas follow
Counting Cards: People play cards, they count on them and they pay money for betting upon them. It is not illegal by any definition of law in the United States ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"SrVBERPq","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Duncan 2001)","plainCitation":"(Duncan 2001)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":"uiuDmsdU/GPZlGToP","uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/s8f0QVnP/items/HJFKVAR9"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/s8f0QVnP/items/HJFKVAR9"],"itemData":{"id":1194,"type":"article-journal","title":"Domestic partnership laws in the United States: A review and critique","container-title":"BYU L. It has been observed that many people, despite having an interest in such activities avoid playing that. They consider playing the card as an illegal activity.
Use of Radar detectors: The use of radar detectors is not illegal. Since the security situation has become to worsen and the state authorities are unable to compensate individual demands, therefore the law does not binds anyne to use such detectors. Despite the growing security concerns, people avoid using radars, just for the reason that they consider it illegal.
Recording other people: People use recorders for fun. They play different activities on voice recorders just for fun. In the public place, people have stopped using such devices because it appears illegal to record the voice of others.
Symbolic Interaction theory
This theory suggests that human interaction with surrounding makes up social interaction. It talks about the ways how people interact with each other. It focuses on symbolic interaction which Hatch believes develop through socialization ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"khYbxZsK","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Hatch 2018)","plainCitation":"(Hatch 2018)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":"uiuDmsdU/Ju4GlhyV","uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/s8f0QVnP/items/PF8VNMID"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/s8f0QVnP/items/PF8VNMID"],"itemData":{"id":1197,"type":"book","title":"Organization theory: Modern, symbolic, and postmodern perspectives","publisher":"Oxford university press","source":"Google Scholar","title-short":"Organization theory","author":[{"family":"Hatch","given":"Mary Jo"}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["2018"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Hatch 2018). Social interaction plays a major role in spreading awareness among society about crimes and criminal activities.
Social interaction theory suggests that most often people think that their actions are not affecting others. They don't consider such actions as creating a distressing environment for others. Therefore the actions described above like acting as vampires, wearing masks or buying or selling sex toys are what the social interaction theory suggests as harmless but making way for other criminal activities. This is the reason such acts are considered illegal.
Contrary to this, there are some actions which are not illegal or cause any harm to other people in society. The social interaction theory suggests that these actions are avoided by the general public. The reason why people avoid such acts is that it makes them feel uncomfortable, or otherwise they respect the privacy of others. Playing cards, use of recorders and radar detectors are all examples of such acts. These acts are not in clash with any law of the United States, but still, people avoid being part of such activities.

Note: Place all tables for your paper in a tables section, following references (and, if applicable, footnotes). Start a new page for each table, include a table number and table title for each, as shown on this page. All explanatory text appears in a table note that follows the table, such as this one. Use the Table/Figure style, available on the Home tab, in the Styles gallery, to get the spacing between table and note. Tables in APA format can use single or 1.5-line spacing. Include a heading for every row and column, even if the content seems obvious. A table style has been setup for this template that fits APA guidelines. To insert a table, on the Insert tab, click Table.
Figures
Figure 1. Include all figures in their own section, following references (and footnotes and tables, if applicable). Include a numbered caption for each figure. Use the Table/Figure style for easy spacing between figure and caption.
For more information about all elements of APA formatting, please consult the APA Style Manual, 6th Edition.
