The most commonly referred Greek word is "Epistle" which means "message" or "letter". These were the main sources of writing and communication in ancient times. In the New Testament times, these were used quite often. Paul has written letters to Churches as well as to individuals (Timothy and Titus). The Epistle to the Galatians is a letter from Paul that was addressing the number of Early Christian communities in Galatia. The basic purpose behind this book is to justify Paul’s call by God and the Gospel of Grace “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.” (Galatians 1:6-7). The letter establishes the significance of Grace in comparison with Law and is known as “Declaration of Independence of Christian liberty”.
The main objectives covered by this chapter of the Bible are how we clearly faith justifies its space in Christianity. This chapter covers the ideologies of law at the very beginning of Christ and states how and why important law is for carrying out all functions. This gives an outline of why is law framed and what purpose is being served by the implementation of the law. Law and the theologies of law are also predicted how long can the law and it's all constructs can survive.
The passage assigned to me clearly states the purpose being served by "baptism" and it narrates how and why baptism is necessary for becoming sons of God and achieving the heavenly powers. This chapter is how Paul justifies the faith in God and tells why faith is compulsory. This chapter is all about the genesis and how righteousness relates to the well-being of human beings on Earth.
• An explanation:
Paul was actively involved in establishment of number of churches in the Galatian region. But after he left that area, Judaizers started getting these churches. Throughout Galatia, there were struggling Christian believers who were being mislead by Judaizers(false teachers). Paul in this letter has spoken against their teachings. He starts chapter 3 by putting 6 questions to the Galatians and use them as his personal argument. The use of word “Foolish Galatians” is showing the depth of his emotion and is referring to the willful whirling away from the truth. He is repeating his teaching as his audience had forgotten what he educated them. He is asking them to bear in mind how they acknowledged the Holy Spirit. Paul is doing so as people has misled about receiving the Spirit as they believe it is through the works of the law. Then he gives his spiritual argument by giving the example of Abraham. Faith was credited to him as righteousness. At this point he is referring to Genesis 15:6. By having faith, one can become the spiritual seed and enter into his promise for receiving the blessings. This chapter is how Paul justifies the faith in God and tells why faith is compulsory. Here the purpose of the law is also mentioned that how important and beneficial law is for mankind and its well-being. As mentioned in the bible,
“Now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian. You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.…”
The life of Paul is all faith and the confidence of faith. This is what he has shown through his practice and all of his life.
Principles applicable within Christian life:
The principles stated in this chapter of the bible is about being righteous, courteous and helpful towards others. in our day to day life, these are the traits that make a personal favorite among all. This proves that how is bible helpful for all in our life. Christianity is a code of conduct for our entire life and is a key to success for all of us. In order, if we want to excel in our lives, we need to follow the golden principles of Christianity beliefs that are just in accordance with human nature. Being just and being helpful towards all is something that demands in us if we want to be known as humans. Being a complete human being, following laws is something that differentiates us from being animals. the only difference between a human being and an animal is thought, the thought that makes you well aware of your good and bad. This is thought that helps you in being a successful person and this thought comes from the bible which has guided us at every step, in every field of life. the bible is light for us a=which has illuminated our lives. If we want to gain success in our lives we need to follow the footsteps as suggested in the bible.
This chapter which I had been assigned opened the gateways of self-realization for me and made me ponder about my existence as a human being. It was the guiding star in the dark alleys of my life where I went astray. These verses have guided me to the straight path.
