Reading from the scriptures about Jonah assignment, it is evident that he was a disobedient, despondent prophet for rejecting Gods command. Even after rejecting the noble assignment and being casted to the sea due to the storm, his life was miraculously preserved in the fishs belly. This sign depicts that indeed Jonah was being reserved to continue offering pastoral services. Borrowing from observations, it is apparent that Jonah was of tender nature but limited to his own people. He rejected the mission to Nineveh even he had full potential to deliver the message of God to the people which led to his decision to escape. As a God-commissioned man, Jonah was responsible of deliver a God-given message which he declined. The attempt by Jonah to resign on his commission by boarding a cruise faced a significant challenge during the voyage. God had prepared a storm that would eventually bring Jonah to obedience. The storm came when he was sleeping and the rest of the sailors were praying to their gods not to perish. In reference to the quality observations made from Jonahs story, God is always in control. Truly Lord is in control of all nations. Upon reaching Jonah delivered Gods message to the sinful people of Nineveh and were given forty days to repent sparing the nation from destruction. In addition, the sovereignty power of God is exhibited in the major division. The book demonstrates Jehovah as sovereign for giving power and reserving his creation to accomplish his mission and overcoming any resistance. He has extensive power to control the weather and commanding nature to make sure his mission is achieved. Jonah, in the major division can be identified as a running prophet attempting to escape from Gods presence. During the time of Jonah people could run away from their gods, but it is apparent that it is impossible to run from the presence of the living Jehovah.
