Introduction
It has been ten years since the company was established. The company is working for the sustainability to protect the environment by developing recycled paper. When the company was established only five workers were employed. However, during the past ten years, the company has expanded its work as well as workers.
Mission and Strategy
The company started with the five workers is now reached to more than one hundred and twenty employees. The formal mission of the company is to develop recycled paper and protection of the environment. The company follows the national environment protection. In addition, the main focus of the company is consumer satisfaction. All employees ensure quality by using advanced equipment control technology. The long-term relationship between the company and customers is made by making the efficient logistic distribution service. In other words, the company main purpose is to protect the environment and develop recycled paper with the help of customer bonding. Through the mission, the company is trying to make the efficient use of given resources that are available in the form of technology and equipment.
Decisions
Strong management helps in decision making. Whenever the company needs to make an important decision, the department head is the first who provide the proposal. The proposal then reached to the manager who discussed the details with the chairman or vice-chairman. Chairman or vice-chairman is the one who approved the most appropriate proposal. Decision making for the betterment of the company also includes the hiring of the most efficient candidate. The company hires a new employee when there is a missing job. During the hiring, the ability of the candidate for particular work is noticed. If the candidate becomes eligible for the job, he moves forward toward the probationary period. Probationary period helps the company to identify the qualities of the employee and to train him.
Measuring Results
Profit or total outcome helps the organization to progress. Therefore, it is important to know how the organization is working or making a profit. Company measures result through two outcomes one by measuring the goal and second by the performance of the employees. To obtain data about success, goals are measured in each quarter. After data analysis, the company set goals with the salesmen for the coming quarter. In addition, the company focuses on the performance of the employees and believes that employees perform well when they feel happy at work. Therefore, the company makes sure to cooperate with their employees. With the increase in the profit of the company, benefits for employees also increase especially during the various festivals. It helps the company to make the most efficient use of its labor force.
Communication
As the company takes care of their employees which results in a good communication environment. However, the company makes sure that during working hours employees focus on their work and talk only about their duty or task. However, the company arranges an outing or celebration party on holiday. It keeps the company's employees free from work stress. The company sometimes faces the issue of conflict but people sort out it without the involvement of higher management. If the conflict becomes bigger than it is the duty of the personal manager to report the issue or try to fix it by communicating with both the parties.
Power and Status
Company does not believe in discrimination or favoritism. The only way to get power and status is to work hard. The employee who shows professionalism and seriousness towards his work often rewarded with rights and status. The person I interviewed said that he always tells newcomer to focus on his work and work harder. The company only appreciates efficient employee and the one who is loyal to his work. It is useful because working hard is the only option to get excellent results and ensuring the success of the company.
Peer Relationship
The environment of the workplace really matters for the excellent performance of the employees. In the company, all employees are supportive and show companionship. When people with a different point of view face conflicts, they solve it through discussion. They discuss the pros and cons of the issue and express their solution or point of view. However, the manager is the only person who approves the most acceptable decision or point of view for the issue.
Rewards
As the company is very much concerned about the performance of the employees, therefore, it not only benefits the employee on the good outcome but also punishes who do not follow the rules and regulation of the company. The person who work hard and give excellent performance, the company rewarded him a certain amount of bonus. On the other hand, the person who does not perform well or show disengagement to the work, the company provides him a table of criticism at the meeting, followed by a certain amount of fine.
Artifacts
Posters, pictures, and plaques: The visitor who comes to the company can see the badge of the company, publicity layout, and plaque which is composed of three colors. The green color indicates the eco-friendly quality of the company, red refers to the flag indicating the mission of the company and gold is the symbol of hope and blessings to the company.
Office Arrangement: The office consists of various departments based on the position of the employee. Reception is the first section where outsider comes to communicate with the employees. The office has two floors in which all employees work in their respected departments while on the third-floor conference room and high-level office, and audit department are made. The fourth floor has accounting and the chairman's office. First two floors are open-ended as numbers of people visit every day but the third and fourth floor have relatively private space.
Reception area: The reception area is isolated because this is the area where smoking is allowed. To keep the smoke and smell away, reception is made separated by floor-to-ceiling glass. The arrangement is made for the visitors with the help of chairs, magazines, TV monitors, AC, and the wooden table.
Hero: Mingqi is the employee of the company who is considered as the hero of the company. Other employees admire him and his work experiences. He is honest, kind, and helpful employee who gets lots of benefits due to his excellent performance.
Story/Inside jokes: There was an employee who got promoted by the company due to his excellent performance. He became the manager of the company but unfortunately, he was not loyal. He stole the money from the company and tried to establish his own company for the same business. However, he failed to establish his business and lost everything money and job.
Different Characters: In the company, there are storytellers, gossipers, whisperers, priest, and spies who work together and play an important role in team management. For instance, minister of personnel is the storytellers, a female employee is famous for her gossips, the secretary is the spy, priests are the employees who manage complains, and whisperers are the people from the personnel department.
Rituals: Company celebrates different festivals and arranges ceremonies on large-scale. Different dinners and anniversary celebration are common in the company. In addition, the festival like New Year is celebrated. The company arranges evening parties, dinner, lucky draws to reward the employees, discuss the past year mistake, and announce the goal for New Year. All employees attend the celebration even the families are allowed with the employee. After the celebration employees enjoy their vacations with friends and family.
