Islam is a beautiful religion, a religion of peace and brotherhood. However, the image of the religion is wrongly portrayed in the western world especially through the eyes of media. After the attack of 9/11 Islam is highly criticized at the domestic and international level where media played an important role to portray Islam as a terrorist religion. The most crucial factor behind the image of Islam is the lack of knowledge about religion to the Americans.

Muslims knows the rituals and customs of Islam. They can raise awareness by providing information about religion. Through their acts and the behavior in the society, they can make people think regarding Islam. Most of the Muslims hide their identity due to the hate crime this need to stop. Muslims should be confident about their religion and beliefs, they should present their identity to the world so that people can understand that not every Muslim is bad or a terrorist and Islam does not teach terrorism to Muslims people, they are like any other religious person. The most important thing that Muslims can do is to take stand against the bad Muslims when a Muslim will identify the bad Muslim, it will help America to separate the terrorism from Islam

Non-Muslims should help their Muslims fellow to portray an honest image of Islam to Americans. Most of the time Islam is criticized by the people who did not see or communicate with the Muslim in their entire life. Therefore, non-Muslims who have knowledge about Islam and have Muslims friends can help them through media, especially social media to show the positive side of Islam. By introducing Muslim fellow to the society and a positive relation in addition to basic knowledge about Islam need to be spread to non-Muslims from non-Muslims people. Politicians and government should encourage Muslims to present their religion to the nation and to acquire equal opportunities.
