Business Law and Ethics
ANSWERS A
A.1 As a recently hired marketing employee, it is better to first collect all the relevant information about the product you are advertising. Although your salary is dependent on high rates of product expansion you cannot compromise on the quality of the product being introduced in a new market. However, it is better to come up with a solution rather than cheating people with a bike that accelerates dangerously. However, since the previous employee was removed due to his concerns against the management, thus it is important that you form a union of the employees and collectively pressurize the management to invest more finances in the production of bikes. It will enable you to sell a safe product in the market without harming anyone lives. A single person cannot take the aggrievance of management, however, collectively you can influence the management.
A.2 Many companies pay the extra amount for advertising their products. Similarly, they pay for placement of their products in several stores. The phenomenon has got popularity in recent times, it is beneficial for those companies who do not have their own outlets at different cities, thus, they pay the stores to keep their products and sell them. The strategy is ethical and is profitable for both parties. The producers sent their products, and people can purchase from the local stores. This saves the cost of separate stores, employees pay and management-related concerns. Whereas, it is also beneficial for the retailers, who earns money for just placing other company’s products at their stores. As an employee, I will recommend the company to pay the amount as it will increase our sales, and also we will be able to know whether customers like our products or not. By giving $5,000, we will be able for product expansion at low cost, besides opening our own outlet and attracting customers.
A.3 In my opinion, it is morally applicable for all companies to produce products which are friendly to adopt and do not harm the general public. The companies should not compromise on the quality of products and consider cost-benefit analysis before formulating strategies. The product expansion strategies are at an early stage and the company should look into all the considerable issues and concerns related to the production. Although the product has gained popularity in North America as it will spread to the South, its customers will be increased. Similarly, when more people buy the product, the issue of solar panels usage in extreme temperature will emerge. This will pose a threat to the company's image by ignoring the issue for so long. And people will stop buying the product due to unhealthy ride. It will cost the company an amount for fixing their bikes but still, the company will have long term benefits of saving their image.
ANSWERS B
B.1 Due to the worse working conditions at Solar Group, the image of Green Move is at stake as well. The management should redefine their agreement about the pros and cons of unfriendly working conditions in the factories. Robert needs to make an agreement to put restrictions on Solar Group to maintain employees work under legal laws. He should make them accountable for providing a healthy internal environment to their employees for work. However, to terminate the agreement will pose a threat for both the companies and will be hard for Green Move to immediately replace the suppliers. It will also be hard for Solar Group to find new consumers, thus both the companies should mutually form a friendly agreement which better reflects the need for workers. However, it will be slightly easier for Green Move to make an agreement with a new company, but it will be worst for Solar Group. Thus Robert can easily force them to change their policies towards their employees and make the working conditions better. Robert should threaten Solar Group to terminate the agreement as a solar pedal can be purchased from other companies easily but it is not wise to practically execute this decision.
B.2 Robert should apply the standard wage approach for workers under Bangladesh's Laws. Employees should be provided with the full wage for their working hours. Child labor is strictly prohibited and banned in most countries, thus it should not be allowed at any cost. There should be a specific age for laborers. Although the company pays high wages compared to other companies bit still it poses a higher threat to workers health as well. High wages not always can benefit the families but poses major threats to the family such as increased spending on their health. Also, the work environment inside the factories should be friendly, and should not stress the workers. Although some Laws are legal in Bangladesh, still due to the internationally recognized image of Green Move, they should plan responsive strategies towards employees concerns.
B.3 The blog could pose a major threat to the Green Move image in public. Although they are not directly involved in the victimization still they are strategically linked with the company. Not only in Bangladesh but internationally people will be held the company accountable for their irresponsive nature towards such an environment. The time, where people are highly concerned about social issues and workers to join a union against the company, it is very important for organization s to maintain a positive image in the society. Due to high competition customers easily move from one brand towards others, thus management should focus on human capital.
ANSWERS C
C.1 Viktor should consider the offer in order to expand their market internationally. If he believes there is a high probability of profit in Russia, he should consider the offer. He needs to include both envelops one for claiming the property and the other for facilitation or easy access towards the property. Many property managers ask for extra favors which they find to be legal, thus one cannot argue about it. However, if you want your work to be done, you need to make sure that the property managers favor you. It is considered legal in many cases, thus need to produce a proper agreement. However, morally the method is not considered decent, but it is still practiced in property-related concerns.
C.2 The Green move strategy of foreign expansion is beneficial in both the cases as it will increase the company’s profit as well as generate new opportunities for unemployed people in Russia. The company was looking for a remote base in Russia, which means they won’t need to pay high salaries to the workers. Also, the company will get more talented people from across the borders in their work staff who will be provided innovative ideas and will achieve international recognition for the company.

D.4 Government needs to consider all the possible threats of the products being produced in their company and made legal actions clear to the management. Since in the production business, the companies are responsible for all the production, manufacturing and supplies of the product. Thus, the government should make them accountable through regular checks for producing quality products. The government needs to check whether the companies are following labor laws or not where the workers needed to be provided with flexible working hours and are not obliged to overwork.
