Old Times by Harold Pinter Analysis
The Old Times is such an incredible drama produced by Harold Pinter a renowned professional in the theatre world for his mastery in using silence as a powerful way of expression and prompting imagination to the audience. Old Times playwright has other renowned works that illustrates his prowess in making impressive performances on quite stages considering all the dangers prevailing (Batty). There is so much emptiness in such a stage and can only reveal the vulnerabilities of the acting crew which could make a play go wrong at any time. Even with his death that occurred in 2008, his legally in changing the scene of drama and essence of silence especially with the drama Old Times that premiered in 1971 one that is famously known for its electric silence.
Looking closely on the play it fails to make the case, since it is not a necessity to, that women as smart and sophisticated and emotionally powerful as Kate and Anna would give him the time of day.
Old Times applies much of juxtaposition during the drama in a theatre and continues to accentuate the capacity of Pinter to create meaningful content (Bray 35). Quite impressive is the depiction of prevailing dissimilarities between the issues of feminism and social norms concealed in a broad-spectrum. The drama presentation in the theatre is visual through impressive lighting and resolution to allow the focusing on the subjective objects that are of significance to the play. In any instances of tension when the vulnerabilities are revealed through nakedness, the playwright applies speech to break and help to recreate and turn it to a beautiful experience. Identifying and understanding the needs of the audience is very important. It makes all the difference in the world to know your audience to prevent the possibility of a huge misunderstanding of the playwright script and proper interpretation of the theatre productions.
