A Grand Compromise on Immigration
The paper incorporates the issues of undocumented immigration and the need for border security, by an addressing solution to these issues and proposing ways to lawful citizenship in the United States of America.
The author pertains that the undocumented immigration persists and the border issues need to be resolved. However, the biggest problem is the undocumented immigrants living in America. Making amendments in law to include them lawfully as citizens against a fee can consequently also fund the border security and address other issues in home countries which lead to immigration to the United States.
The proposed solutions to the burden of immigration and border security mutually benefit both the State and illegal immigrants; lifting the stress of deportation from the immigrants and the state from raising funds for border security.
The authors seem convinced that such initiatives will emerge successfully smoothly and does not explore other reasons which might impede such as the initial costs which are high will be born by the state before any revenues show result and how the populace will react to the reforms.
The reforms proposed by the author limits his arguments by conditioning the reforms to certain categories of undocumented immigrants with a certain time limit. The arguments may also be limited due to the receptivity of the reforms amongst masses, higher fees may consequently delaying the process of border security altogether. The arguments are limited by the time and cost legislation will take to plan and execute these reforms.
The author comprehensively induces the spirit of inclusion and provides resolve for the further escalation of the immigration of undocumented five million people, through robust border security. The proposed reforms lift the burden of border security and its high costs of the state. It provides a realistic view by generating money through managing border security.
