Assignment Module Three Ethics and Corporate Values

Introduction

Social responsibility is the ethical theory whereby individuals are accountable for accomplishing acts that benefit the entire society. In social responsibility, the company ensures a balance between economic growths and the social welfare plus environment (Servaes & Tamayo, 2013). Social responsibility theory is founded on the systems of ethics where the actions and decisions made need to be ethically validated before continuing forward.

Case study

The case study TOMS provides examples of social responsibility. In 2006, the founder of TOMS launched the TOMS shoes a firm that match one-for-one each pair of purchased shoes with a new pair of shoes for the child who is in need. In over ten years since the firm was established, it managed to provide over 60 million shoes to the children in need. The company also started TOMS Eyewear in the year 2011 that assist in the restoration of vision to above 400,000 individuals by providing medical treatment, prescription eyeglasses, and surgery.

In 2014 the firm created the TOMS Roasting Co. The company provided 140 liters of safe water to the people in need with each purchase of coffee from the company. In two years, the company offered safe water in six countries amounting to above 335,000 weeks of clean water. The founder of TOMS then created TOMS Bag Collections in 2015 with the aim of assisting women with safe delivery. The company provided training to the birth attendants and distribution of the birth kits.

Conclusion

In conclusion, TOMS demonstrated social responsibility in activities that benefit the entire society while at the same time making profits. TOMS has managed to provide shoes to the needy, provide safe water to communities, restore eyesight, and promote safe delivery of women. The company should continue the social responsibility and improve in areas such as providing education to the needy children.

Introduction

The health claim is regarded as the relationship between health and food rather than a general statement of content. According to World Health Organization (2015), the health claim is usually made by individuals affected by certain condition and therefore, it is compensation over certain medical related issues. There are two types of health claim which are known. These are general level health claim and high level health claim and therefore, the issue of health claim is a serious in the food industry. It is also regarded as the voluntary statements which are issued by the food companies. The statement of the health claim can therefore, appear on the advertising and on the food label. However, there are various types of claims, which are known and this claims are related to health and food or product manufactured by a company.

General claim are referred as the substance, which are in the food and it has some effects to the health. For instance, the calcium for healthy bones and teeth is a health claim, which is usually made by companies making toothpaste. It is popularly made by Colgate Company when it is advertising its “triple action” paste to customers. The message means that collage triple action contains calcium, which is good for teeth. The advertising is focusing on the importance of the calcium to the building and strengthens of the teeth. The high level health claims is a substance or nutrients, which are found in the food and it has a link to a serious disease. For instance, the statement diet high in calcium can reduced the level of risk of osteoporosis in people who have attained the age of 65 years and above. It means that the biomarker claim that the phytosterol can reduce the blood cholesterol.

There are several health claims in the media and internet and some of the popular health claims are “processed food can lead top weight gain but it is about more calories.” A study has established that processed foods contain more calories compared to any other food and therefore, constant or frequent eating of such foods could lead to weight gain. Most health specialists advised people to have a well balanced diet and to take a lot of homemade food. This could be the fact that processed food is not good for the food and therefore, it is advisable to limit the intake. According to Mozaffarian, Hao, Rimm, Willett, & Frank (2011), ultra processed food could cause weight gain due to overeating and therefore, it is advisable to minimize the quantity of processed food being taken daily. A study conducting by the University of Minnesota regarding the dieting and weight gains concluded that, the weight gain among the participated are related to the type of food, which each person take. And therefore, majority of people who are taking processed food gained more weight compared to the people who took processed rarely or mixed processed and homemade food CITATION Hal19 \l 1033 (Hall, Ayuketah, Brychta, Hongyi, & Cassimatis, 2019). Therefore, there is enough evident based, which indicates that processed food can lead to weight gain. It is therefore, means that the claim, which are made by the company is accurate and people should therefore, limit the intake of processed food for the sake of their health. The ultra diet food causes a serious weight gain because of the high content of calories, which are in the food. A study has indicted that most of these foods are prepared using a lot of oil and sugar and therefore, they contain a lot of calories, which result to weight gain.

It is important to validate this claim because it could help many people to reduce the weight. A study has indicated that there is constant increase of weight gain across Australia and other countries within the Western world. The constant increase of weight could be as a result of intake of a lot of processed food. Over the last few years, the growing number of fast food restaurant s has been witnessed in Australia and other countries across the western region and most of these fast food served processed food. It is therefore, possible that the increased number of fast food has caused the high increase number of overweight individual and therefore, it is important to limit the intake of processed food in order to control the weight gain CITATION Kat19 \l 1033 (Anderton, 2019). A study has indicated that weight gain can lead to serious chronic disease such as high blood pressure, heart attack and hypertension and therefore, the health claim that processed food can lead to weight gain is a serious health claim which should be observed by everyone. This therefore, validates the claim and a serious healthy eating should be observed to limit the danger of taking too much processed food.

In conclusion, health claims are regarded as the information or statements, which are related to health and food. It is like a warning or advisory information to customers regarding a specific product. And therefore, it is important to follow some of the health claim on TV and from the internet. The health claim processed food can lead to weight gain has been accepted and therefore, it is important to limit the amount of processed food being taken.

Below, are the steps involved in the strategic planning cycle.

Direction Setting

Setting direction is the very first and initial step of the strategic planning process. This step indicates a basic accord on the entire strategic plan. Which is the determination and focus on the critical and crucial str4ategic problems, issues, scenes, actions, actors, and understanding of the situation at hand (current situation). The emphasis has to be on the importance of commitment, support, and cooperation of key decision-makers.

Directive Identification

This step of the strategic planning cycle involves the analysis of every personal manual, regulations, and law crucial and important to the firm or business. These terms and conditions need to be understood for the purpose to eliminate and avoid unnecessary and unimportant self-inflicted restrictions and controversies (CIO Wiki, 2019).

Mission and Values Clarifications

A mission statement is a statement that provides clear social justification for the operation and existence of the business or organization. In such a case, the economic and political interest and clients’ requirements are recognized and made the basis for the existence and establishment of an organization explained.

SWOT Analysis (Analysis of Internal and External Environment)

Analysis of both the external and internal environment of a business or organization identifies the key strengths and critical weaknesses regarding the organization or business. While, potential opportunities and crucial threats indicate the situations faced and will be facing by the organization in the future (CIO Wiki, 2019). This analysis of the external and internal environment is performed with the help of SWOT Analysis where Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats for the company or organization are identified and analyzed.

Identification of Strategic Problem or Issues

Strategic issues are the basic critical and crucial challenges or policy questions that have an impact on the values, mission, vision, client, employees, and finance of the company. These issues may include project goals, means and the ways to conduct and implement it, it's timing, rationale, locations, and people or groups involved/engaged. For the purpose, strategies and plans are formulated to tackle strategic issues, a draft plan is developed by a particular (selected) individuals or group(s) based on the agreed format. The plan is required to have a clear executive summary, process outline, and the final goal and ultimate objective.

Mission and vision of the company should be stated according to the principles and values of the firm or organization.

Implementation

The organization must ensure an effective implementation process for every action taken all over time. For instance, in the next two years. Benefits and drawback, as well as past strategies and utilized tactics, need to be considered.

Evaluation

Evaluation is conducted when the pan has been finalized and even implemented. This is done through the refining and reviewing. Every consideration should be taken in regard as per the requirements at different phases. Consideration should be taken regarding the plan reaction along with any recognized change.

Long-term Benefits of Strategic Planning

Organizations or businesses and get benefited from long term strategic planning. They can be enabled to be highly proactive in terms of growth, rather than taking mere actions and reaction to the market condition or situation. Companies and business can be benefited by the strategic planning in the long term and many ways. Hence, some of the most significant long term benefits of strategic planning are the following.

Less Involvement of Risk

The very first long term benefit of strategic planning is less involvement of risk. Development and setting up long term goals and objectives enable organizations to track results as well as to make necessary adjustments. The implementation of a new strategy by an organization or business without having time for tweaking and testing ideas and concepts needs the management to move in the stake on a project. Hence any of the possible and recognized risks can be eliminated or avoided (Greenley, 2016).

Spread Costs

Beyond the one discussed above, long term strategic planning helps businesses and organization to spread costs. That is, long term strategic planning allows the organizations to budget over all of the projects for a longer duration so that costs can be spread and that would benefit the organization in many ways (Greenley, 2016).

Enable Market Testing

As long term strategic planning is the process of developing long term business strategies (Greenley, 2016), the third benefit is long term strategies enable market testing. It does so because it lets the organization or business to roll out shifts into smaller, shorter stages and more controlled and manageable segments.

Beyond the aforementioned advantages/benefits, other advantages include but not only avoidance of possible distractions and development of potential benefits.

Unique Barriers to Implementing Foundations of Strategic Planning

There are so many explanations to the failure of strategic plans, but some most crucial and majorly common are described in this section of the paper. The very first barrier that exists is the lack of strong and effective leadership. Lack of effective leadership increases the possibility of failure of the strategic plan. If the leaders or leadership of a particular program, plan or department is not likely to provide sufficient support and cooperation then the plan is mush likely to be failed. Another barrier is that strategic planning commonly and generally concerns agreement development (Dyer, et.al, 2017). If the process or plan have been conducted wrongly then the entire process would fail to promote and support collaboration, communication, and participation.

Despite the above, the most common barrier is the difficulty of predicting future events. It is not easy to predict possible future events finely and perfectly. At the result, being too much determined does not narrate to the actual tasks and goals needed in the effective and efficient implementation of the project plan. While the absence of momentum in the short run is the last barrier to implementing foundations of strategic planning. It is due to the windows of strategic plans which continuously grow smaller.

Benefits of not to Utilize Strategic Planning

Executives of the company understand that strategy is fundamental. However, everyone finds it scary because of the stress and pressure they will be subjected to face a future which they can only guess now.

Further, the real process of choosing a strategy includes making a choice that fully cuts of possibilities and choices. The management might well fear that making such choices and possibilities poorly will crash their fear. One of the major advantages of avoiding strategic planning is it does not let expenses get out of management control (Dyer, et.al, 2017). One of the crucial troubles with strategic planning is every manager prefer to utilize convenient and familiar cost side models to the company’s revenue side. So thereby treating revenue plan as virtually the same to the cost planning as well as an equal part of the complete budget and plan (Bereznoi, 2015). Failure of planned profits and revenues to show up makes the managers and executives consider it like their failure.

Analysis of Intercontinental Group

Answer 2

The group has implemented the steps for responsible business on all its stakeholders. The shareholders have placed an increased emphasis on various issues related to environment, society and governance. There are different ways of engaging with shareholders including the annual general meeting and investor relations team CITATION Dan12 \l 1033 (Grosbois, 2012). The group has identified some sustainable development goals from the UN and implemented them within the business. The clean water and sanitation goal is pursued by the group by launching two projects for water stewardship in London and Delhi so that the group can apply different strategies to identify issues related to water. The group reduced water usage by 3.1% per room CITATION Fer182 \l 1033 (Fern Fort University, 2018). This achievement was a result of a comprehensive water risk assessment undertaken by our group in 2016. The human resource department provided quality work experience to 13531 people in the year 2018. The trend of one job from 10 generated from tourism motivated the group to keep a motivated work force. The group offered a learning and development strategy that meant that there were ample investments in the human resources CITATION Stu11 \l 1033 (E.Levy & Park, 2011). The group has made sure that there is an equal opportunity for both genders to get employed with the group. This is also represented in the highest rank on the Human Right’s campaign on corporate equality index. It is also important because our employees have very different backgrounds in terms of religions, races and sexual orientations. This meant that we had to focus more on equality aspects so that these differences do not intercept the organizational goals. The environmental aspects were implemented by the implementation of a number of green engage solutions. There were clear reports mentioning carbon emissions, energy and water usage by the group. The group is focusing on building a complete supply chain that can take on responsible business agenda CITATION ihg19 \l 1033 (ihgplc, 2019).

Intercontinental Hotels Group is highly committed to manage all its operations with fairness, integrity and as per the standard Code of Conduct. It is the responsibility of an organization like IHG to speak-up about all kinds of breaches made against the Code of Conduct that could be related to: Bribery, auditing & accounting matters, conflicts of interest, antitrust violations or competition, fraud/theft or falsification of records, dangers related to health and safety in environment, human rights concerns, and harassment or discrimination etc. All these issues are very severe and IHG is making sure that no such issues are faced by anyone within the company or even with any other stakeholders CITATION CZa15 \l 1033 (C.Zaharia & I.Zaharia, 2015). IHG is having a strong management system that monitors and identifies all such behaviours. This management system directly reports all such behavioural and ethical concerns to the Human Resource Manager, line managers and other critical members of the board (considering the level of issue). The system is kept confidential and secure, so that all the workplace concerns would be addressed. IHG does not allows anyone to make good faith reports of all such mentioned breaches against the Code of Conduct, and overall hospitality industry policies, even if the chances are higher to face loss CITATION JLC18 \l 1033 (J.L.Craft, 2018). The ethical aspects force the group to communicate their services in a clear manner so that there is no mismatch in what is communicated and what is delivered. The food aspects will have to be according to the international standards as communicated through various media including group’s website. Ethical behaviour will mean that the group will preserve the interests of all its stakeholders while making any decision.

Answer 3

The US is a system of government where President heads both government and the state. Some differences are present in the political system of US and other European countries. There is a greater degree of power available to the upper house of legislation and more authority at the hands of Supreme Court. The political stability in country provides ample opportunities for businesses to grow themselves and Intercontinental hotel group has taken advantage of political stability CITATION Ald11 \l 1033 (Aldehayyat & Alkhattab, 2011). There are different political systems faced by the group in different countries meaning that it has to combat different features of these systems. One of the most important aspect is the political stability which would allow the group to work with peace. In a country with higher risk of military invasion, the group will not prefer to work. It will be difficult for the group to work in a country where higher level of regulations are implemented in the leisure industry. The legal aspects include the laws related to consumer protection and the intensity with which they are followed. The attitude of the society towards corruption will also change the stance of group. Amount of tax charged on services and income will also affect the group in more than one ways.

The economic factors also have an important impact on Intercontinental group and its ability to give quality services to its customers. The type of economic system in any country will affect the ability of hotel to provide quality services. Generally, there is a majority of countries which follow the mixed economic system so mostly the group will come across this system. The fluctuation or stability of exchange rates also affect the group in many ways. If the group wants to generate finances, the efficiency of capital markets will affect its ability to raise capital within the country. The extent of training required for the employees will also affect the costs incurred by the group. The interest rate will decide whether it is feasible to take loan from banks and other financial institutions. Another important consideration is the choice of factor of production in any country. In a country where labour is cheap, group will use labour intensive techniques and countries in which technology is cheaper, technology based methods are used. Per capita income is also an important variable for the group to consider because this will affect the level of services that can be offered by the group in a particular country CITATION Cat11 \l 1033 (Enz, 2011). The rate of inflation will affect the overall cost of service provided by the group. If inflation is higher, provision of service will be more expensive. The number of foreigners or business people visiting a particular country will also affect the group. Thus, the group has to consider many economic indicators to consider while doing business in different countries.

The major social aspect affecting the group will be the demographic distribution of that country. An ageing population will not suit the hotel because they will not use most of their services. The group has to alter various policies if there is a strong class structure. This is particularly true in case of marketing strategies which would mean that group will target some particular class with its marketing strategy. Education level and standard will affect the group in more than one ways. It will affect the possibility of finding quality human resources from the available pool. The attitudes of a society towards social responsibility of business will also affect the group because it will have to take care of more things if there is more importance given to these aspects by a society CITATION Noa08 \l 1033 (Goldstein & B.Cialdini, 2008).

The technological aspects will also affect the way this group will provide services to customers. The recent steps taken by competitors in terms of technological aspects will have to be followed by this group CITATION YiS16 \l 1033 (Wang, et al., 2016). One of the most important aspects will be the usage of social media for marketing purposes and the impact of various options used for marketing on customers. Another major consideration will be the cost at which technology is available to the group and price which it is willing to pay for it. The technological aspects will play an important role in the success or failure of the group in any country CITATION Sun05 \l 1033 (Ham & Kim, 2005). Technology can affect the provision of service both positively as well as negatively depending upon the state of technology in a particular country.

Answer 5

Intercontinental Hotels Group is one of the leading global businesses that is having an exceptional global outlook. The group is working efficiently in more than hundred countries across the globe and it owns exceptional workforce with diverse background. The workforce is based on an amazing mix of races, religions, background, beliefs, cultures and sexual orientation. More than 400,000 people are working with IHG all over the world, which is valued by the millions of guests as the group clearly demonstrates a blend of inclusive and diverse culture. Cultural diversity is so important for a global organization like IHG, as people from all over the world buy products and services offered and for this they all need facilitations in terms of usage and knowledge. IHG could have faced intercultural issues on a serious level if it was not following the policy of hiring native people from the market they serve CITATION IGu15 \l 1033 (I.Gutierrez, et al., 2015). The company is having a good mix of employees, who are culturally aware of all the cultural values, rituals and beliefs. IHG considers sensitivity, understanding of cultural differences and cultural awareness as key to their business success CITATION JSi \l 1033 (Simao, n.d.). Therefore, it is actively involved in keeping up of all its guests’ demands. In order to assess whether the cultural diversity can be a competitive advantage or not, the VRIO framework will be applied to the diverse human resource held by the group CITATION Jor16 \l 1033 (Pereira-Moliner, et al., 2016). The first aspect of resource is value which means if the resource adds value for the customers or not? The diverse workforce does add value for customers because there are customers who come from different countries and backgrounds. Employees can cater these guests better if they know their backgrounds better. Employees from varied backgrounds will mean that other employees will have sufficient familiarity with different cultures and backgrounds CITATION Bye04 \l 1033 (Kim, 2004). The rarity option will be applicable to countries where labour is either very expensive or rare. In countries with abundant labour, it is hard to find the suitable person because of lower standard of education. We can thus conclude that the diverse workforce is a rare resource for the group. The resource is hard to be copied by other competitors because it will be expensive for them to try and hire these employees. Finally the group has enough resources to make sure that the competitive advantage is properly utilized. The discussion has helped us to conclude that diversity in work force is a competitive advantage that is sustainable over a longer period of time. The equality in workforce is easily imitable as any competitor can hire men and women in equal numbers to match the organization. The various differences in cultures pose some problems to the group but with the help of continuous trainings, the employees become used to each other and these differences are settled. Another option used by the group is to hire maximum number of employees from the home country so that they know the culture very well CITATION Mar15 \l 1033 (Tani & Papaluca, 2015).

“Understanding The Internal Environment Is A Necessary Attribute Of A Modern Tourism And Hospitality Manager.”

Hospitality Management

Hospitality Management

I think that this problem cannot be shrunk down to be answered so easily and comprehensively. There are multiple ways in which a manager needs to work when it comes to managing the internal factors of tourism and hospitality businesses. This is a concept of a complicated origin as many factors need to be taken care of to guarantee customer satisfaction CITATION Que14 \l 1033 (Querubin S. Yap, 2014).

A Manager of the tourism and hospitality business is like a person who is sandwiched between the whims of his customers and the abilities of his employees. On one hand, the manager is responsible for the training of the new staff about the procedures of the organization, and on the other hand, he is trying hard to make sure that the increases his clientele, so that the business grows and he gets more incentives for his hard work. Therefore, realizing the importance of the internal environmental factors of the business, he focuses more on his staff as they are supposed to act as the eyes and the ears of the organization under his management CITATION Rob16 \l 1033 (Robert C. McMurrian, 2016).

This is not so easy for the managers themselves. For keeping all the internal factors in line, the managers have to consider some of the external factors of the hospitality and tourism business as well. There can be no business if there is not the season of work or if the customer cannot reach their place of business. So, the manager has to be flexible as he is a bridge that balanced the internal environment of the organization with the external one. True that the internal environment is the permanent factor that makes the wheel of the organization run but there should be not a shred of doubt that it always takes two to tango and enjoy the bounty of life.

The term International business is used to jointly denote all commercial transactions occurring between more than one countries. Private companies and government organizations have their own reasons for perusing international transactions. International business is also defined as the interchange of goods, and services among business enterprises belonging to different countries thereby making a considerable business presence in more than one geographical location ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"pK8Gs78V","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Shenkar, Luo, & Chi, 2014)","plainCitation":"(Shenkar, Luo, & Chi, 2014)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":932,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/orkqtrjP/items/N7UZCJFJ"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/orkqtrjP/items/N7UZCJFJ"],"itemData":{"id":932,"type":"book","title":"International business","publisher":"Routledge","ISBN":"1-135-06758-9","author":[{"family":"Shenkar","given":"Oded"},{"family":"Luo","given":"Yadong"},{"family":"Chi","given":"Tailan"}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["2014"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Shenkar, Luo, & Chi, 2014). The international business allows a regional brand to go international and eventually global. Cross border activities are essential for the long-term success of an enterprise. Companies enter into international markets by exporting, importing, licensing, franchising, etc.

Response to Question 2

Heckscher-Ohlin theory is an economic model that suggests that countries export what they can produce plentifully. It can be used as a guiding theory on how nations should use their resources. This model is also used to evaluate trade between two countries that have diverse resources ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"wE9lbViB","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Baskaran, Bl\\uc0\\u246{}chl, Br\\uc0\\u252{}ck, & Theis, 2011)","plainCitation":"(Baskaran, Blöchl, Brück, & Theis, 2011)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":933,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/orkqtrjP/items/QWMG8XID"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/orkqtrjP/items/QWMG8XID"],"itemData":{"id":933,"type":"article-journal","title":"The Heckscher–Ohlin model and the network structure of international trade","container-title":"International Review of Economics & Finance","page":"135-145","volume":"20","issue":"2","author":[{"family":"Baskaran","given":"Thushyanthan"},{"family":"Blöchl","given":"Florian"},{"family":"Brück","given":"Tilman"},{"family":"Theis","given":"Fabian J."}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["2011"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Baskaran, Blöchl, Brück, & Theis, 2011). Like the export theory, it also suggests that countries should go for import of resources they don’t have in abundance or can’t produce plentifully. It is a theory that guides in what way countries should operate when they have imbalanced resources. In addition, this model is not limited to the commodities but other factors of production as well.

Response to Question 3

Value system can be defined as the hierarchy of values possessed by people demonstrated by the choices that make. Based on this value system, an individual decides what is good and bad, desirable or undesirable, and ethical or unethical. The value system of every individual differs from the other. The business and corporate life in South Africa faced drastic changes at the end of apartheid. Some of the positive changes in the business sector observed include the development of a free-market economy. A number of private companies emerged, and led to the development of a balanced local economy. Government programs encouraged international business, and transformed the South African business culture. The government also took initiatives to promote small businesses, and some of the South African corporations also got listed on the London Stock Exchange such as South African Breweries (SAB). The impact of these changes is visible in the current business environment of South Africa.

Response to Question 5

TRIPS is an international legal agreement between the participants of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and it is referred to as the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS). This agreement was negotiated at the end of GATT in 1994, and it sets down the lowest standard for intellectual property regulations by the local governments like the other members of WTO. In addition, this agreement introduced, for the first time, IP laws into a bilateral trading system. It is also considered as the most widespread IP law until date. TRIPS also resulted in the formation of bilateral agreements between nations.

Response to Question 7

The foreign exchange trading is executed by trading currency pairs, and quotes is used to refer to the price of these pairs. Quotes can be divided into two forms, direct and indirect. Direct and indirect quotation enables one to manage the exchange rates for each currency pair. A direct quotation differs from an indirect quotation in the ways units of currency is shown in the units of other currency. For instance, in the case of direct quotation, the cost of one unit of foreign currency is shown in units of domestic currency, and vice versa for an indirect quotation. Both the quotes are exactly opposite to each other.

Response to Question 8

Partnering with local companies is considered as a necessity for effective business expansion in a foreign market. It can take different forms such as a simple co-marketing arrangement or a major strategic alliance with a local organization. However, a foreign company partnering with the local companies can face some difficulties owing to the lack of local market knowledge, and the difference in business cultures. Local partners can take benefit of incognizant foreign business partners for their advantage. Lack of knowledge and understandings can result in business failures such as the failed joint venture between TCL and Alcatel is an example.

Response to Question 9

Export is one of the strategies companies can adopt to enter a foreign market. It can bring many benefits to the firm expanding its operations in an international market, however, relying only on export can bring many disadvantages to the firm. Companies need high investment to start export operations, and it is also sometimes challenging to find an import partner. The export business also requires license and fulfillment of regulatory requirements of the country in which export operations are initiated ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"eAM6QTSi","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Sinha & Sinha, 2009)","plainCitation":"(Sinha & Sinha, 2009)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":934,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/orkqtrjP/items/B93EVPV9"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/orkqtrjP/items/B93EVPV9"],"itemData":{"id":934,"type":"book","title":"International Business Management","publisher":"Excel Books India","ISBN":"81-7446-629-0","author":[{"family":"Sinha","given":"Pradip Kumar"},{"family":"Sinha","given":"Sanchari"}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["2009"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Sinha & Sinha, 2009). Transportation cost in some states is also high, and cheating from importers is also a common phenomenon. Agents involved also charge money, and seasonal fluctuations may reduce profitability.

Response to Question 10

The international strategy identifies the options or choices of the markets within, and outside the nation where the firm is competing. The international strategy of the firm including the offshoring, international outsourcing, or importing of the firm is crucial even if it is not selling its goods or services outside the nation. Importing also includes the purchasing of the goods by the other nation. To outsource vendor firm delegates the whole process for outsourcing. Vendors control the operation where outsourcer may perform their task within the same nation or any other nation. On the other hands, in offshoring company perform its function in other nation mostly at a lower cost. International outsourcing is the function that contracts to the nondomestic third party.

Memo

To: All Employees

From: Nick Jensen

Date: September 29, 2019

Subject: Change of Reimbursement Policy

We would like to inform all staffs that the reimbursement program will be discontinued immediately from the beginning of October 1, 2019. For the last year, the economic situation has changed and the company has not been performing well. The marketing position have made the company to lose its key customers and therefore, resulting to lose of business and decline of revenue. This has made it difficult for the company to continue supporting the program. The management of Jensen Chemical has always been committed to improve the welfare of its workforce but at this level it would be difficult for the company to offer much needed support.

However, all employees who are currently admitted for undergraduate program will receive reimbursement for the courses during the present semester. It is also important to point that employees with less than four courses to complete their studies will continue to receive the reimbursement until they complete their studies. It is a difficult decision for the management and we hope everyone would understand the point and continue to serve the company diligently so that we can realize our goals and objectives as a company.

Thank you for understanding, and we look forward for fruitful discussion. If there is any concern, kindly raise with the human resource department for immediate response.

Thank you

Essay 1

Introduction

Dan Ariely, a psychologist, and behavioral economist wrote a book, "The Honest Truth About Dishonesty: How we lie to everyone- especially ourselves" is one of the most significant accounts that highlight where cheating comes from and what are the possible situations that can push people to cheat others (White, et al. 2020). Taking into account a variety of notions and aspects that are associated with cheating and dishonesty, several solutions can be proposed.

Discussion

There are some significant conclusions extracted from the book, such as cheating is a standard that is practiced everywhere in all situations and all surroundings. It is also found that the outcomes related to cheating are not affected by increasing the cheating rewards or doing any alteration to the risk of being caught, along with a strong emphasis on the fact that the more one is abstracted from cheating, more are the options for cheating. Willpower is also central in understanding cheating, where no significance is given to the incentives to deplete cheating or the ratio of transparency. Among many of the solutions, a major role is played by the increasing perception of detection that can help to mitigate the ratio of frauds. An organization should make the employees aware that their dishonest acts will be punished, then, segregating duties is also important, taking into account that independent checks serve as a major deterrent of dishonesty. Issuance of a written or abridged form of policies and penalties can also help to reduce workplace dishonesty. It also includes clear communication of anti-theft policies that can help the employees to adhere to security systems (White, et al. 2020).

Making effective use of technology in the form of check and balance can play a central role in reducing dishonesty from the workplace. Here, dishonesty is also deterred when employees are aware of, and they expect unexpected audits. However, dishonesty can also be mitigated by using some behavioral and practical options (DeCamp & W, 2020). It includes knowing the yield of all the consumables, which will clarify the realistic approximations, analyzing the estimated time required to complete a task framework can also help to prevent and even eradicate dishonesty because material tasks require an estimated and justified time limit, including all exceptions (DeCamp & W, 2020). Carrying out random as well as regular inspections can also help to know the progress of the task, which can include a balance on the cash tallied and the maintenance of cash register. Other than these actions, there are some behavioral aspects as well such as, knowing the person who is hired to do a job. It includes having knowledge about the business people and other connections because sometimes dishonest actions are directed by gatherings and combined intentions (DeCamp & W, 2020).

Conclusion

Dishonesty in the workplace is also a product of some behavioral products such as habit. For example, if an employee is drug addict, he might attempt some dishonest act either to cover up the mistake or to fulfill the underlying intentions, So, prevention of dishonesty also requires an employee to keep a check and balance on the drug check before as well as after employment. Dishonesty is something that is a direct product of, or something that already exists so, there are both, behavioral as well as practical actions that can help to reduce workplace dishonesty. The above-mentioned strategies can play a central role in reducing dishonesty in the workplace.

Essay 2

Introduction

The major section of the US economy is a free market economy, also termed as an economic market that is derived by supply and demand. Government regulations play a central role in defining the scope of the free market, taking into account that buyers and sellers often conduct their businesses without any discourse with the government regulations. Today there is a continuous debate between economists and politicians, justifying the necessity of government regulations in the United States economy (Chen & I, 2020).

Discussion

Under the impact of free markets financial markets can develop, as it facilitates the financing needs of the people who are not or who cannot self-finance. There are both, explicit and implicit threats associated with force. Some of the common examples are, taxations, mandates carrying out specific exchanges, control on prices, requirement of license and quotas on production (Glassman, et al. 2019). Although these constraints are defined and explained in terms of the ratio of fairness, consumer safety and analysis of both disadvantaged and advantaged groups in the society. Whenever the behavior of a free marketer is regulated, the scope of free market is limited or restrained but it is not limited from its core. In addition, it is highlighted that voluntary exchanges still have a space in the overall framework of government regulations to be practiced (Glassman, et al. 2019).

It is also important to note that there are a lot of exchanges that take place with the violation of rules that are proposed by government. Such actions are also counted as “black market” actions that are the underground version of the free market (Chen & I, 2020). Today, market exchange is highly constrained because of the competition in the free market that exists between the poles of continuous conflict between producer’s consumers and the rival groups to that of rent seeking competition that is accomplished by the political system. As a result, the competitive advantage in black market tends to flow to those who find violence in relative advantage, adhering to oligopolistic or monopolistic behaviors (Chen & I, 2020). It is also highlighted that in contract to free market, command economy is also important because there are more public welfare options in command economy.

It is highlighted that the essence of command government infers that free-market when intervened by the government, can help to minimize the damage that is caused by some of the natural occurring economic events. Also, inflations and recessions are one of the major parts of business concerns, which in case of free market are dealt with violence and underground immoral attempts where intervention of government can minimize the harsh impact of the economic forces on the constituents of the markets (Glassman, et al. 2019). It is highlighted that free market progress without government rules and regulations so there are rare chances that free market needs government for its actions. In fact, government interventions are treated as something that can add to the constraints proposed by the government. So, it would not be wrong to say that from the viewpoint of an economist of the free market, the market is affected by the intervention of government (Glassman, et al. 2019).

Conclusion

Government not only tries to confine the actions of the marketers and their stance of supply and demand but it also imposes more transparency and regulation for the people who are not familiar to, and they don’t even want to be familiar to the market norms (Glassman, et al. 2019). Although a universal perspective finds it very positive that government interference can bring reforms, still I think that government’s intervention should be confined to the command economy. Also, as the titles asserts, free market should be made to work freely under the traditional or the market norms that are well suited for the mindset and actions of the people, working parallel to it.

Essay 3

Introduction

In addition to contract work, alternative work in the present time includes tasks that are performed by freelancers, contractors and the gig workers (the workers paid for tasks) and other people who are hired to work under the particular arrangement. Taking into account the flux of strategies that are associated with these professions, several strategic implications are highlighted. It is asserted that are both, direct and indirect implications extracted from these alternative works that can impact businesses.

Discussion

Freelancers play a central role in increasing cost per hour, where employees are able to save 20 to 30% of the annual income with a year (Kuhn et al. 2019). Also, it facilitates the employers because they don’t have to arrange for the office space as well as the maximum office supply costs. There is much less risk of reduction because freelancers are not employees who are regular, so there is no need for issuance of rights of discrimination and harassment. All the talented workers are given access to work for a company without any hustle of distance and availability of space (de Ruyter, et al. 2019).

In addition, the Gig economy also plays a central role, where employees are making use of their abilities without limiting themselves to the constraints of time and tide. In the same way, there are more options for employees to look forward to in their careers. The additional income that the employees can earn will not only add to the flavor of a job but it will also allow employees to look for better options. There are a lot of people who have the ability to manage their full-time employment along with the gig. In the same way, contract jobs also play a central role in empowering employment ratio along with a positive approach towards earning options (Kuhn et al. 2019).

Although these are some of the direct positive products associated with these options, still there are some negative and narrowed outcomes. firstly, there is less approach and emphasis on accountability because employees cannot be monitored while they are working at home. This lack of accountability is found in both, lack of quality work as well as challenges in a transparency on the employees (Kuhn et al. 2019). It is also a stress for the employees as well because they are seeking and searching for new gigs the whole day which is a negative impact on the health. In addition, there is a greater risk of inconsistent with inconsistent cash flows. Employers are juggling with a large number of client at the same time, in the same way, the one who is working with such platform sis also seen jiggling with everyone how has offered him/her work to do which will reduce the amount of attention and stance of productivity in the work, Also, the worker has to face a lot of issues in terms of incentive and paid leaves so they feel scattered unfocused and lacking (de Ruyter, et al. 2019)

Conclusion

It would not be wrong to say that alternate opportunities are doing more harm than good, but still, they are greater option to strive for a strong economy and financial structure. These changes can cast an impact on both businesses as well as society.

Essay 4

Introduction

Volkswagen’s emissions cheating scandal is one of the major incidents of the past that has directed and incorporated new approaches for understanding mechanics as well as technology. The scandal was about the installation of illegal defeat devices in the engines of vehicles in the United States since 2009 (Strittmatter et al, 2019). There were reports of emission of dangerous gases from the vehicles. A critical analysis highlights that there are several ethical lapses associated with the dieselgate, where one of the significant roles was played by the testing of derogations.

Discussion

As per the manufacturers, the testing of derogators revealed balanced results in terms of emission but it was found to be more than average when seen in a practical situation. Also, it is observed that the buyers are cheated by selling them substandard vehicles because these emissions can not only affect the diver but the complete diversity of living things. Also, it was a violation of environment laws, that ensures that none of the material objects should hamper or harm the environment. It was found that the emissions were an abrogation of Environmental Action Germany of DUH, that repleaded that the emission from the vehicles was 2-4 times higher than the legal NOx values. This data was found by conducting tests in a four-wheel drive, which was below the legal limit of 80 mg/km when the car was driven on two-wheelers (Welch et al, 2019).

It would not be wrong to say that it was the overpowering impact of the organization's pressure that might have let the workers take such a serious aspect for-granted. However, according to the many researchers, this issue has also questioned the type of laborer’s who are working and the type of incentives that are given to them so that they can keep up the good work. There are several recommendations that can be utilized by the company to overcome the issues. Firstly, the company should put in all the efforts to re-stablish or empower the credibility of the company. Then the company should opt for re-branding, with the help of companionship or joining some independent verification agencies (Welch et al, 2019). Also, the company should try to sell its few brands so that customer interest can be regained. It will not only boost the credibility of the company, in fact, but people will also know the efficacies of the company in positive ways. Then, the company should give consideration to its employees because many of the issues occur when employees are not into their jobs. Also, significant attention is required in terms of adherence to the laws and regulations that are proposed and promoted by government laws (Strittmatter et al, 2019).

Conclusion

In a nutshell, it is highlighted that there are different aspects that are required to be considered so that the past impression can be replaced with that of a positive approach that can re-establish the credibility of the company. The proposed recommendations will be beneficial for the company and the marketers as well.

Bahamain Artist/Painter

Bahamain Artist/Painter

[Name of the Writer]

[Name of the Institution]

The artist I chose to write about is Christophe Roberts

Christophe Roberts is an American- Bahamian artist who was born in 1980. He has learnt many art disciplines including painting, graphic design, sculpture and direction. He uses everyday objects like building materials and shoe boxes. A famous saying of him goes as “A true artist can use all the tools in his box. His style transcends through multiple platforms, from digital, to organic, to textile.”

Roberts’ aunt, Gloria Ward, was a fashion and production designer and has worked for many artists and films. She was an early influencer for Roberts. Roberts was into art from an early age. He saw Anacron as a role model in his young age. Anacron was a dancer, rapper, producer and a graffiti artist. The art piece that attracted Roberts to multidisciplinary art was the KRS-One concert.

Roberts earned his bachelors in arts degree from Cornish College of Art based in Seattle. He studied film, web design, music and illustration. Robert also went for an independent study at Brooks university. Seeing the paintings of Pablo Picasso inspired Roberts towards painting. He started to sell modern cubist paintings and also recorded hundred songs in Seattle. He came back to Chicago in 2006 and continued selling his paintings. He took part in many group shows and created associations with many art spaces. And in 2010 in New York, the Lyons Weir Gallery exhibited his paintings. He mainly painted animals and also working as a graphic designer. Then Robert focused on innovating his sculptures that he made using the Nike shoeboxes and for this reason he is also featured on the brand’s website.

Roberts cites the animal figures as the “metaphor for his ambitions”. Later he shifted to Harlem and started designing T-shirts for brands. Then Oliver “Power” Grant of Wu-Tang Clan asked for his collaboration for a show for Wallplay Gallery. That same year, Roberts installed at the Complex Magazine office. Robert now lives in Brooklyn and his focus is sculpture, designing and painting. his work has been exhibited in many times since early 2000s. he had his work exhibited in wallplay gallery in 2013, initiative gallery New York in 2014 and Nike air max con in 2016. People have seen his work at the NEXT Fair, as part of Artropolis. He mixes in his work all the disciplines of art he has learnt. His paintings and sculptures are powerful and complex and convey strong meanings.

Christophe Roberts work is fun and creative. Wherever his work is displayed, it is the front and center of the show. His sculptures made of shoe boxes gain the attraction of everyone. His work is more innovative than many artists ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"TUwqm60f","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Scaldaferri, n.d.)","plainCitation":"(Scaldaferri, n.d.)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":258,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/0knlLEVT/items/QTJQS4WZ"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/0knlLEVT/items/QTJQS4WZ"],"itemData":{"id":258,"type":"webpage","title":"Art in the Bahamas | Top 10 Contemporary Art Galleries","container-title":"Culture Trip","abstract":"Check out the vibrant art scene of the Bahamas, which is bringing contemporary culture to life in the Caribbean, with our guide to the best art galleries.","URL":"https://theculturetrip.com/caribbean/the-bahamas/articles/art-in-the-bahamas-top-10-contemporary-art-galleries/","author":[{"family":"Scaldaferri","given":"Graziano"}],"accessed":{"date-parts":[["2019",3,30]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Scaldaferri, n.d.). His style is unique and he inspires many young artists through his work and style. His sculptures are not only cool to see but also carry different perspectives and messages. He expresses masculinity, bravery, emotion and ambition. Like the bird sculptures he makes from the Nike shoes boxes are a symbol of the friction between the longing of consumers for the brand’s products and the satisfaction they get from buying them. Nike produces quality products and the sculptures add to the level of loyalty of the brand’s customers. The formation of the bird sculpture hints at qualities like aggression, determination and strength that are very important qualities for an athlete.

Roberts not only asserts on just making art. He contracts vast perspectives and strong emotions into his artwork. For example, the eagle sculpture made from the shoe boxes depict strength, positivity and value. These are the most essential qualities for a person and anyone who wants to live his/ her life on their own terms. His work creates a perspective for the onlookers and it has been pretty much appreciated. It also influences the youth as in how they se themselves and the legends who lived before them ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"Hwk7ReEZ","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Newsinger, n.d.)","plainCitation":"(Newsinger, n.d.)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":256,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/0knlLEVT/items/K7IAUAAV"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/0knlLEVT/items/K7IAUAAV"],"itemData":{"id":256,"type":"article-journal","title":"Lobster","author":[{"family":"Newsinger","given":"John"}]}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Newsinger, n.d.).

Roberts has been featured by Nike and he is the only artist featured by Nike on its website. The pigeon sculpture that he made from the shoe boxes of Jordon and air force. This sculpture was created for the legendary Jeff Staple. The pigeon symbolizes the ability to thrive and positivity.

Christophe Roberts has always used shapes as an element o his work. These shapes possess symbolic value to him and he uses what he needs to use to express an emotion. He has been incorporating this thoughtful process into his work since a very young age and this practice has enabled him to create the big abstract artwork and he knows well how to metaphorically present his sculptures as messengers of ambition and emotion. He has used both digital mixes and carving that further make his work commendable and authentic.

His artwork seems to be a mix of the characteristics of a hustle and bustle of a space and also what he or another person perceives and questions about it. Many things have influenced the artist to follow this path i.e. art but mainly it was the hip hop culture. And he went on to produce music ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"hkWXx3gK","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Newsinger, n.d.)","plainCitation":"(Newsinger, n.d.)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":256,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/0knlLEVT/items/K7IAUAAV"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/0knlLEVT/items/K7IAUAAV"],"itemData":{"id":256,"type":"article-journal","title":"Lobster","author":[{"family":"Newsinger","given":"John"}]}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Newsinger, n.d.). In his artwork, one can see the impacts from other artists work like McFarlane and Jacob Lawrence.

The accuracy, precision and technical aspects of his art can be attributed to his education in art at the Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Washington. He has said that the education and training at his college made him to aspire for more and not confine himself to one type of art. He is of the opinion that creating only one type or art is like limiting one’s creativity. So he left Chicago to travel to learn and explore many cultures that made him the artist he is today.

The other forms of his artwork like his paintings and music are also well appreciated but it is the sculptures that gain the most traction. And he has been able to sell many pieces of his sculptures ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"3HsuUSpp","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Ginsburgh, 1996)","plainCitation":"(Ginsburgh, 1996)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":254,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/0knlLEVT/items/SSF476RI"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/0knlLEVT/items/SSF476RI"],"itemData":{"id":254,"type":"article-journal","title":"What is wrong with droit de suite: The economic arguments1","source":"Google Scholar","shortTitle":"What is wrong with droit de suite","author":[{"family":"Ginsburgh","given":"Victor"}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["1996"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Ginsburgh, 1996).

In addition to art, Christophe has adequate knowledge of technology and this enables him to create a balance between his freestyle and the art of executing in a scientifically careful manner.

Roberts residence at the New York city and his association with Nike has helped him a lot as an artist. Nike has appreciated Roberts’ work even if it seems to oppose and protest the practice of capitalism that the brand operates along. Christophe’s ability to create a work that resonates with him and his experiences so well have enabled him to bring together his creativity and personal perception. And he has proved himself to be an artist of value. The huge eagle sculpture he has created is related to the legendary JFK and he wishes it to influence the younger generations as how they see their legends.

Christophe Roberts is an artist who has made his way up the ladder through hard work and dedication. He is an inspiration to the next generation of artists. He is the personification if the concept of hard work and determination. I chose to study him because I believe that the artists of this era can be better inspired by the living legends. Although the older generation of artists has had many great artists like Amos Ferguson and Francis but their time was different from today. The artists need to look up to someone who has had relatively similar situations and opportunities like them and ho they have defied the gravity and made it to the top. Classic artists are admirable and are respected but todays artists need to work according to the current trends and circumstances. Roberts is a living example for the aspiring artists out there and is influencing many of them. He has proved that one can succeed on his own. Even without having unfair advantages over others or availability of resources and favorable circumstances, one can achieve what he/ she wants to. His art brings out the energy and the power from those sculptured animals and transfers it into the onlookers. His way of taking the ordinary and transforming it into something beautiful is exceptionally amazing. To succeed in life, we need to search and follow real life examples. One can create his work following his own will and defy the norms and can excel. It is of course very important to have adequate knowledge and skills about the work, but creating new and unique artwork can also be loved if it has value and meaning. In the world there are many artists and creative thinkers who have immense talent but just not the right direction or opportunity/ platform. Christophe Roberts is a guiding light to them. He is the manifestation of creating one’s opportunities for oneself. He is kind if an artist who has presented what art really is. Art is being yourself and making your own. Art is not what stereotypes but it is the thing that breaks the stereotypes. Art is something that makes life easier and pleasant.

Attached below are the images of art pieces discussed above.

Banking in Latin America

I selected the role of venture capitalist in Latin America. The reason I chose this role is that it is a new technique of financing to inject the long term capital into the medium and small sector and it is making a notable contribution in the developed countries. The reason as to why chose this role in Latin America is because it is a new industry that has demonstrated remarkable evolution from the early 2000s (Gruss, 2014). In counties that have venture capitalist activity, government, NGOs, development agencies have promoted innovation, entrepreneurship and the first breed of the venture capitalist managers. With developing economies in Latin America, the managers and entrepreneurs are still exploring mode with regards to finance, create and internationally grow high potential firms.

The kind of pension plan that I would choose is open pension plan because it takes the form of the deferred annuities that are inflation indexed. The major players in this sector are the insurance companies that carry out the main services of the pension system which include benefit payment, asset management, account administration, and contribution collection. It offers the assured 6% real return rate and between 75% and 50% of the real excess return (Central Intelligence Agency, 2014). After retirement, the investor has the two option of drawing wholly or partially the balance accumulated. The open pension plans also offer other benefits like disability, survivors and life insurance. The other different type of pension plan that I would select is the PGBL that has flexible investment and contributions options without the return guarantees. Firms use the PGBL plans for the workers, and the contribution rates might be changed, and the investors might choose to select between three different funds that compromise of the missed income fund, fixed income fund, and the sovereign funds. The administrator of the PGBL could invest the contributions in just one of the three funds that are managed by the mutual fund's firms exclusively. At retirement assets accumulated are utilized by the administrator of the PGBL to purchase the inflation-indexed annuity.

Pension funds manager has been beneficial in Latin America. The pension plan managers manage the strategic decisions and daily affairs involved with the pension plan or fund. The fund manager ensures that the money is funded into the pension fund, appropriate asset distribution decisions are made and the payouts are distributed evenly among the qualified pension plan beneficiaries or participants. The pension plan systems in Latin America have had development in the past years, and most of the people have benefited from the employer pension plans (Gruss, 2014). People having pension funds managers have benefited from the pension plans which offer other benefits like disability, survivors and life insurance. The pension plan manager ensures that the pension fund or plans are administered according to the countries regulation. They are also accountable to all the pension plan of all the participators compromising the regulatory authorities, sponsors, and beneficiaries. The manager also delegates all or some of the responsibilities to different service providers.

Entrepreneurs have been of benefit to Latino America. Startup business has been rising in Latin America with the availability of capitals Latin America have closed deals worth $2.3 billion. However, the investments are taking place in Mexico and Brazil mostly (International Monetary Fund, 2014). Most of the business outside these two countries raises funds from the venture capitalist. The entrepreneurs have improved the economy of Latin American by providing employment and source of income to most of the inhabitants. The entrepreneurs have also increased the cash flows in the country that assist in improved ease of business and increase in economy of the country.

Thai soccer team incident 2018

By

Date

Lecturer’s Name and Course Number

In 2018, the group of 12 boys, members of a football team aged between 11 to 16 years were trapped in the cave of Tham Luang. The search was started to rescue the 12 children trapped for several days in a cave in northern Thailand. Some parents spent the night there, settled on simple jute cloths on the muddy ground of the park in the north of the country, on the border with Burma. Heavy rain and flood waters hampered the rescue efforts but officials believed that they are alive. The 12 boys entered the Tham Luang cave in Mae Sai district with their coach on 23rd June 2018. It was a tedious rescue operation but the teamwork of Thai and International teams made it possible.

The teamwork and management at this stage were very important because an efficient team with common objectives is much more effective than a list of people working individually, no matter how much potential these people have. In an event like this, one of the most important things is to be able to form a team and not a group and without a doubt, it is one of the most critical success factors of the rescue project. Seeing this at the macro level, it is to be appreciated that how they developed a teamwork strategy that led the team to success (Frazer and Oswald, 2009).

The case of the football team was very clear because there was a common objective at the national and international level. Irrespective of race and of thoughts, all the teams worked day and night to bring the team and their coach back to life. This event and how it was reacted is one of the greatest examples of national and international people working as a team, with a clear objective. They were able to manage stress, which blocks us and makes us unable to think correctly. This would not have been done without teamwork and management of all the rescue teams (ABC News, 2018).

What made international teamwork and management effective was their professional training to deal with such situations in a calm way. They together developed a common strategy and several dozens of rescuers were mobilized for the research. The teams went down and explored the bottom of the cave. There was no network inside so the people outside had to wait until they came back from the cave. Navy seals and other search units also participated and looked for them in the cave (Gartenstein, 2018).

The operation was conducted by three teams: one outside, to find if the cave has another entrance and two teams inside. Divers of the Thai Navy took turns to probe the bottom of the cave in which the water reaches in places five meters high. The rain continued in this very remote area of northern Thailand and it boosted precipitation with the passage of time. The army constructed a dam to block the water flowing down the mountain that was going in the cave (Viswanathan, 2018).

It was a race against the clock but the rescue teams did not panic. The first days of research did not reveal the slightest trace of the group inside. The authorities believed that they may have found refuge a little further, in this cave several kilometers long, to escape the rising waters. It was a mother who gave the alert when she did not see her son coming back from the football training. The group's bicycles and shoes were found a few hours later just outside the cave, in a large park. The operation was supervised by the country’s top officials who provided all the facilities and helped the rescue teams to collaborate and work with each other for the common objective.

On the 10th of July, the twelve children and their young football coach trapped for 18 days in a flooded cave in northern Thailand were successfully evacuated as a result of teamwork and good management. In the beginning, eight children were taken out of the cave, they were hospitalized and were found to be in good mental health. All the children underwent radiological examinations and blood tests. Two boys who showed signs of pneumonia received antibiotics and became healthy (Robbins and Coulter, 2018).

This was surely an international operation because a quarter of the team of divers were foreigners. There were a lot of risks in the operation such as the reduction of 15 percent of the oxygen, the floods by rains and the mental health of the children. The children received basic diving classes to travel four kilometers to the exit of the cave and most of the children were numbered at the time of approaching the water capsules. The capsules, designed by Elon Musk, were transported by divers to the surface. The teamwork made it possible to dig a five-meter tunnel to keep warm from the low temperatures and humidity of the cave (Viswanathan, 2018).

The team learning was the key to the success of this operation. In the beginning, the rescuers had postponed the start date of the operation, preferring to send divers to take care of the children on the end of the rock, while trying to lower the water level. The international teams from US and cave divers from Belgium, UK, Scandinavia, Australia, and many other countries took part in this operation. Some of them had volunteered, and few were requested by the authorities of Thailand. One navy diver who voluntarily participated in the mission sacrificed his life in this mission.

The journey to save them was indeed fraught with pitfalls and it was impossible to recover them from such a deep cave. Located one kilometer deep, they had to go up four kilometers of underground galleries, sometimes submerged, with obstacles, all in the darkness. It took good management and the teamwork of three days for the professional divers to pass 1.7 km of narrow hoses to the first base camp of the rescuers, with a passage of 80 centimeters wide and 40 high. This teamwork was very much appreciated by everyone around the globe (ABC News, 2018).

Reflection

The teamwork experience has been very beneficial for me during this course. I learned the principles of teamwork. I also learned how to collaborate with other members to achieve a common goal. For teamwork, everyone is required to present their ideas and at the end, the best one is selected on which everyone tries to give his 100% and collaborate with each other to attain the final goal. I believe that communication is the key to teamwork, without it, it is not possible to work in a team (Cooley, 2002).

This course is surely of great importance for me and for other mates as well because it would help us to deal with any such situation in the future. I am highly thankful to the instructor of this course for guiding us sincerely and friendly. The basic and advanced knowledge that I have gained from this course will surely be employed by me in the future not only in such sort of events but also during the projects of higher study and during my employment activities. The teamwork in the case of football team described above has further deepened my knowledge of teamwork.

Ethical Issue under Discussion

Introduction

The chosen article offers a comprehensive look at an ethical issue that has been catching fire ever since the #MeToo movement ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"H464W45H","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Tippett, 2018)","plainCitation":"(Tippett, 2018)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":111,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/5VyEEXyp/items/XSMGM96W"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/5VyEEXyp/items/XSMGM96W"],"itemData":{"id":111,"type":"article-journal","title":"The Legal Implications of the MeToo Movement","container-title":"Minn. In business, there are certain moral values and ethical principles that must be maintained in order to create a work environment that is nurturing for the employees, allowing them to grow and work to their full potential. These ethics are applied to all levels of business and guide a business onto a track that promises efficiency. However, a business reveals its ethical conducts when certain news articles are published in the media. “Female Microsoft employees accuse the tech giant of discrimination and of ignoring cases of sexual harassment in a 90-page leaked email thread shared among staff” CITATION Rod19 \l 1033 (Ardehali, 2019). This article was published in a well-known newspaper, the Daily Mail UK on April 5, 2019, and raises awareness about a highly prevalent ethical issue in today’s global business market.

Discussion

The article discusses a 90-page long email thread that has been passed back and forth between the female employees of the company ever since March 20th. It details the numerous instances of discrimination and sexual harassment they have had to go through. The email, leaked to a publication by the name of ‘Quartz’, gives details on how women have been treated in the place. These acts include the women being asked to perform various sexual acts for their male colleagues, with their complaints later being dismissed by the HR.

For someone like Microsoft, the 90-pages long email leak is not something that is easily dismissible. With 27 percent of its global workforce comprising of women, and 20 percent among them loading key leadership and tech position, these claims are nothing short of a bombshell. From being called names to being asked to perform sexual acts that were dismissed by the HR as casual flirting and even being threatened to be killed, these women had a lot to say about the state of things at the tech giant. However, the head of the HR at Microsoft eventually took notice of the thread to personally look into these claims and curb such behavior off of the Microsoft premises. This may not be the first time Microsoft has come under fire for sexual harassment claims. In March 2018, about 238 cases were filed against the tech giant, with most of them still being investigated.

This shows the ethical dilemma faced by the organization in terms of their practices and treatment of female employees at work. Sexual harassment and discrimination in a big, debatable issue, one that needs kind consideration and due diligence in its eradication from the workplace ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"MSkTVc7Z","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Hersch, 2015)","plainCitation":"(Hersch, 2015)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":112,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/5VyEEXyp/items/YDUWQW6L"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/5VyEEXyp/items/YDUWQW6L"],"itemData":{"id":112,"type":"article-journal","title":"Sexual harassment in the workplace","container-title":"IZA World of Labor","author":[{"family":"Hersch","given":"Joni"}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["2015"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Hersch, 2015). In recent years, a 28 percent decline has been observed in the reported cases with organization changing their policies to bring in stricter guidelines about the matter. Still, given the fact that there is an increase in the number of reported cases by men in the past few years shows that the problem is still at large and the ethical dilemma it makes for the organizations this issue has been prevalent in is still going strong ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"Mn1w9bNZ","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Quick & McFadyen, 2017)","plainCitation":"(Quick & McFadyen, 2017)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":113,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/5VyEEXyp/items/NJFDRJ4R"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/5VyEEXyp/items/NJFDRJ4R"],"itemData":{"id":113,"type":"article-journal","title":"Sexual harassment: Have we made any progress?","container-title":"Journal of occupational health psychology","page":"286","volume":"22","issue":"3","author":[{"family":"Quick","given":"James Campbell"},{"family":"McFadyen","given":"M."}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["2017"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Quick & McFadyen, 2017).

Conclusion

In the light of the aforementioned mentioned article, it can be observed that sexual disclination and harassment is not a problem which is limited to a specific region or a country, but it is much more commonplace and has even infiltrated household names like Microsoft. The issues highlighted in the leaked email should be discussed and taken care of by the concerned staff on an immediate basis. Furthermore, the individuals that make a mockery of the system by participating in such activities should be condemned and should be held accountable for their actions. The more they get away with their action, the more unsafe a workplace environment becomes for those who have been subjected to abuse and harassment at the workplace.

Being Your Best Self: Making an Ethical Decision

What decisions are possible (the ethical and unethical)?

The absence of well-developed models of ethical and unethical behavior in organizations shows a stark lack of research conducted in this regard. It is further elaborated when organizations do not discuss issues like these while implementing a new policy within the workplace. In the present scenario, the most obvious unethical decision to be taken by the company is to fire all the women involved as well as the whistleblower that released the list in the first place. However, doing so will be disastrous on so many levels, and would additionally earn Microsoft a bad rep apart from being completely wrong. The ethical decisions possible here would be to pay heed to the claims and investigate which ones are true. The next course of action would be to discuss the matter with the parties involved and solve it in a productive manner. Additionally, taking care of the system in places that require care would also help the system go a long way ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"ug0TVSfv","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Bommer, Gratto, Gravander, & Tuttle, 2013)","plainCitation":"(Bommer, Gratto, Gravander, & Tuttle, 2013)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":114,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/5VyEEXyp/items/RHN22A3B"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/5VyEEXyp/items/RHN22A3B"],"itemData":{"id":114,"type":"chapter","title":"A behavioral model of ethical and unethical decision making","container-title":"Citation classics from the journal of business ethics","publisher":"Springer","page":"97-117","author":[{"family":"Bommer","given":"Michael"},{"family":"Gratto","given":"Clarence"},{"family":"Gravander","given":"Jerry"},{"family":"Tuttle","given":"Mark"}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["2013"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Bommer, Gratto, Gravander, & Tuttle, 2013).

What stakeholders should be considered and at what level of importance?

Out of the six primary stakeholders that have a stake in the progress and the future of the company, there are three that bear the brunt of such a situation directly. They are the managers, employees and the community the company works from (Austin, n.d.). The employees are the most important stakeholder in the matter since they are the one being subjected to harassment and discrimination at the workplace. Their claims should be heeded and processed in a manner that restores their faith in the company, making them a part of the productive workforce that lifts the company up. This is followed by the management, who sometimes have to take unethical decisions, especially under pressure under the force of those above them. This system needs to change in order to improve the present scenario and make the work environment the sort where an employee can flourish. Finally, the value held by a company in the eyes of the community it is set up in is what ensures its success in the long run. That is where it hires its employees from and that is also where it exists. Therefore, maintaining good standing and reputation in that particular area is crucial ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"2RWX0z5z","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Yamada, 2010)","plainCitation":"(Yamada, 2010)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":115,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/5VyEEXyp/items/4GWEVJRG"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/5VyEEXyp/items/4GWEVJRG"],"itemData":{"id":115,"type":"article-journal","title":"Workplace bullying and American employment law: A ten-year progress report and assessment","container-title":"Comp. What decision you have decided is best in this situation that you have found?

The best decision would certainly be the one taken by the in-house HR head at Microsoft and that is to investigate each and every single claim and deal with the ones that are reported to be true. This saves the company from bad PR and at the same time restores the trust of the female employees in Microsoft.

Introduction

The chosen article offers a comprehensive look at an ethical issue that has been in the news since the #MeToo Movement ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"H464W45H","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Tippett, 2018)","plainCitation":"(Tippett, 2018)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":111,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/5VyEEXyp/items/XSMGM96W"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/5VyEEXyp/items/XSMGM96W"],"itemData":{"id":111,"type":"article-journal","title":"The Legal Implications of the MeToo Movement","container-title":"Minn. Sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace is a prevalent issue at present. An example of this could be seen in the article “Female Microsoft employees accuse the tech giant of discrimination and of ignoring cases of sexual harassment in a 90-page leaked email thread shared among staff” CITATION Rod19 \l 1033 (Ardehali, 2019). This article was published in a well-known newspaper, the Daily Mail UK on April 5, 2019, and raises awareness about a highly prevalent ethical issue in today’s global business market.

Discussion

The mere idea that 90-page long email thread could be circulated around a Microsoft office and then released to the media, with the women detailing how the management wouldn’t pay heed to their complains is an issue in itself. However, the bigger issue is how the management had been treating the situation in the past and how they will continue to treat it once they have thoroughly investigated the claims, as they promised.

The human mind is a funny thing. It finds ways to placate itself and turn the other cheek when things take a turn for the worse. This is exactly the problem with most corporations in terms of its HR and PR departments. The HR that is responsible for the human capital of the organization often chooses to practice moral muteness, rationalization, justification and distraction to keep loss aversion at bay. On the other hand, the PR department is usually hard at work to maintain the public image of the firm and a scandal of sexual nature can deeply harm the company’s reputation (Noe et al., 2017). In these situations, the HR would rather distract the individual with a complaint and give justifications as to why they cannot take an action. Sometimes, they just simply proclaim that the complaint doesn’t have any evidentiary support. If all else fail, the use rationalization to make sense of the entire situation is also a tool frequently employed by them. The could rationalize the situation with statements like if you have been dressing up for the office, have been casually flirting with your coworkers and seeking attention of all those around you, you must expect for someone to take things to the next level, one where you may not like what happens to do. This form of distraction and the moral muteness of those witnessing it is the main issue here.

While most people are better aware of the situation now, the idea of practicing moral muteness about the people that you know or are higher up in the organization’s hierarchy is still very much the go-to method here. It isn’t that they are not ethically or morally right, especially in regard to their moral intent. However, it is just that they do not believe in needlessly rocking the boat as they did before. They know the legal implications of consent and how forcing themselves on someone can have a potentially negative impact on their life (Joshi and Jain, 2018). If one analyzes the situation with Microsoft, using moral muteness, over justifications and distraction leading to creation of a festering wound within the women. It has not only affected the present female workforce and had then believe that the HR couldn’t help them in any way, but also made women feel unsafe about applying to the company. Additionally, when the contents of the email threat were sent to Quartz and then leaked to the public, it was time for some serious damage control.

Conclusion

Microsoft, upon seeing the email thread online, has vowed to look into the claims that were made and see to the fact that appropriate actions are taken. However, following moral ethics, that teach you how to differentiate between the right and the wrong sometimes becomes undermined by moral intent. If the required authorities had taken the right step, at the right time, none of this would have happened. In the end, by keeping your moral intent in check and staying within the ethical boundaries, you would be easily be able to make hard decisions without any regrets.

Introduction

Belden is one of the leading telecommunication and ICT providers. It provides signal and security solution to enterprise across the globe and therefore, it deals with diverse culture. It has existed for over 100 years and therefore, it has a huge market share and financial base. Since it operates in several countries, Belden’s organizational culture is therefore, essential for its marketability and profitability. However, Belden faces two major problems, which hiders its market growth and these challenges are classified as organizational level problem and group level problems.

Organizational problem

Belden does not have research and development (R&D) center, and therefore, it does not have innovative products. The company provides ICT services, and the ICT system is very diverse and grows daily and the lack of R&D and the organizational level makes it incapable of delivering needed technologies to customers. As stated by Belden (2018) R&D ensures that an organization produce products and services, which are relevant and based on the needs of customers. Without efficiently investment in R&D the organization could not delivery its core mandate and therefore, cannot efficiently compete in the market and therefore, Belden lack R&D and therefore, it affects its market performance. There is also a conflict between the company business practice and its clients. It is because some of its clients offer similar services as Belden to their clients and therefore, stiff competition between Belden and its clients cause a lot of conflict of interest and this should be addressed so that it build customer loyalty, which is essential for its market growth.

Group or workforce problem

The analysis of the company established that it does no efficient talent among its workforce for certain tasks. Belden is a technology oriented company and therefore, it provides services worldwide in a diverse market and culture CITATION Geo18 \l 1033 (Root, 2018). This requires talent for it to deliver due to emerging technological trends and therefore, without talented workforce, it is difficult for Belden to service its customers. Since the company work in a diverse culture, sometimes it is difficult for employees to communicate coherently with customers due to cultural differences. This is very frustrating and it affects its performance and therefore, it must be addressed as a matter of urgent.

Solution

In most cases, challenges work as a downfall for many companies. According to Root (2018), the way these challenges are addressed is a major factor for the success of a company. Therefore, Belden challenges are related to R&D and group work talents CITATION Alv19 \l 1033 (Alvesson, M, & Sveningsson, 2019). The best solution would therefore, to partner with learning institution to develop talent and improve skills of employees. This would allow employees to provide efficient services to customers. It would be important for Belden to establish research and development center where new innovative products, which match the customers’ need would be produce. The products or services offered should be based on the market demand and therefore, through R&D the company would be able to design products or services, which could meet the demand of clients CITATION Dri18 \l 1033 (Driskill & G.W., 2018). It is important to have in house training where organizational culture is trained to nurture employees. It will nurture employees to interact with clients and therefore, it would be helpful in building customer loyalty in the market.

Conclusion

Belden challenges are related to workforce, cultural differences and lack of R&D and therefore, this is a problem to the performance of the organization. These problems can be addressed through partnership with learning institution, having in house training and establishing R&D within the organization to help in improving its technological services to customers.

Introduction

Communication is the heart of every organization. Everything an employee does in the workplace results from communication. Therefore, good reading, writing, speaking and listening skills are essential if tasks are going to be completed and goals achieved (Hargie, 1997). As a person develops their career they will find various reasons why successful communication skills are important for them.

To understand the importance of communication in professional life, the following report will take the example of diverse organization, Best Buy Inc. Best Buy Inc is a multinational brand and organization that deals in consumer electronics. The company has its head office in Richfield, Minnesota. This organization has been taken as an example because it adheres to the strongest principles of communications and engages a number of channels in order to enhance the effectiveness of the process.

Discussion

As already discussed that communication skills are extremely important for an individual no matter in what field they are. The skills of communication garner much more importance in the case of professional communication, where these communication skills help in conveying the message effectively. The following piece of writing will look into the details that what exactly are communication skills and how they are defined. Moreover, this report will also elaborate that what is exactly professional communication and which factors that contribute positively to the development of communication skills in an individual at the workplace.

Communication Skills

Communication skills are one of the core skills of human interaction. Sadly, fewer and fewer individuals pride themselves on having strong communication skills. Perhaps worse, the electronic communications of today — being forced to limit communications to a limited number of characters, the employment of emoticons rather than describing one’s feelings using words, and the Wizard of Oz phenomena stemming from the anonymity of communicating via keyboard rather than in person, etc. — mitigate against the employment of good communication skills, especially in-person communication skills such as listening, empathy, and compassion. Consequently, those who do undertake improvement of their communication skills will have a significant competitive advantage in just about all aspects of their personal and professional lives.

Importance of Effective Communication Skills

As Richard Branson would put it, “Being able to effectively communicate is what separates a person from others”. This clearly points out that, it is one's ability to communicate that earns the confidence of others to choose him/her as their leader. Having good communication skills always helps a person to grow in his business or in his career growth. Advantages of good communication skills are as follows:

Excellent communication skills prevent misunderstanding. It gives clarity and direction.

Effective communication skills provide clear and defined policies. Organizational communication helps an organization to be successful.

Effective interpersonal communication skills such as listening skills, making eye contact gives a boost to your personality.

If you are an effective communicator helps to make understand and understood things. It gives self-satisfaction.

If you have good communication skills you are able to communicate a goal in an organization. The people you communicate will perform their jobs more effectively.

Effective communication is productive, soothing to the ears and satisfying the souls of the listeners.

Effective communication also enhances harmonious living, by way of taking everyone's opinion into consideration.

The personal integrity in a person is improved by effective communication.

It also helps persuade, influence and inspires.

Build rapport making it easier in gaining alliances and partners in business or any undertakings.

Increases the value of a person.

It also helps others to sit up and listen.

Effective communication can bring about a lot of other advantages to both personal and team. It will help one to face the crowd and not just another face or name among the crowd but being remarkable which is incredibly important for anyone to succeed in their endeavors. Building an effective customer service communication strategy should be an integral part of the company values (Arnold, & Boggs, 2019). These strategies help to promote your brand to future customers, build a strong relationship with existing customers, and address customer concerns.

Factors that Contribute Positively to Enhancing Professional Communication

This section will not only discuss the basics of communication skills but also elaborate that how these factors contribute to the development of communication skills, specifically at the workplace. In addition to these details, the underlying details will also include the recommendations that how to work on these aspects in order to improve the communication skills.

Education

There is a famous saying:

“If you just want to survive then you don't need to gather knowledge, but if you want to live up to fullest then knowledge is must and through your knowledge, if you are able to bring change in many life's then people won't let you die.”

Education is a tool to always put forward yourself. This can be explained in generalized terms rather than being specialized. Actually, education not only means getting good score in examinations, but it means to gather knowledge as much as you can of different domains. It enforces behavioral improvement of a person; if it does not bring behavioral improvement in an employee, or an individual, in general, it is useless.

In order to develop a connection between education and good professional communication skills an individual needs to develop a basic understanding of what communication skills are. Communication skill is speaking up the relevant about the issue/topic in precise manner, presenting yourself along with facts and figures, if needed. When an individual behaves as per the accurate situation then definitely will react or communicate in a correct way and will speak up only the relevant (Boissy, et. al., 2016). He or she can determine easily what needs to be said in a particular situation and all this could happen only when they have knowledge about that domain and they possess in-depth understanding by analyzing the aspects related to it.

It can be understood in a more simplified manner. In ancient times it was perceived that if a person is educated, he or she has the power to do anything. If a person is educated and has knowledge about anything he or she would be confident enough to move anywhere and even can communicate easily. If an employee is not so educated he or she would not be able to communicate with any of the other people or the management. They would hesitate or jitter. Education teaches a person each and everything and if educated, will automatically not hesitate to communicate with any fellows because an educated person has got that much guts that help him/her to put forward his point in an appropriate manner.

Education strongly influences people’s communication because of the following factors;

Education provides employees with enough information so that they have sufficient material to organize their thoughts clearly so as to be able to convey them in an effective and intelligible way to others.

Once an employee’s thoughts are clear enough, the next requirement for effective communication is a fairly good vocabulary which aids people in lucid delivery of their thoughts and information. Education lends the professionals a helping hand in initiating and enhancing their vocabulary on a continual basis.

The third requirement is grammar, and but for education, no one can ever hope to get a clear idea and grasp of grammar principles (Jackson, 2015). The communication of such people who do not possess adequate knowledge of grammar will always be lacking in some important aspects and their message will always be a poor second compared to the communication of educated intelligent individuals.

Education provides the platform for regular interaction with other educated and informed people which enriches one’s practical knowledge which in turn adds substance and shine to one’s expressions.

Education supplies the essential impetus which motives one to strive for continuous development and desirable evolution, and communication is verily one of the important aspects of mankind’s evolution. Without education, such a desirable growth will severely be hampered.

Training

Communication is an integral part of our lives and more effective it is the more our tasks become easier. Effective communication is a two-way process. The first part of the process is listening. If you listen well, you too will be listened to properly. The clarity of thoughts, the conciseness of the message and the levels of voice tone and pitch are the essential components of effective communication when it comes to your turn to speak. An individual’s communication skills also reflect several aspects of the individual’s personality as a whole. The non-verbal communication in the form of body movements, gestures, etc. also help to analyze an individual’s personality.

Needless to mention, an impressive personality braced with excellent communication skills greatly enhances the confidence level of an individual and also improves the chances of both vertical and horizontal growths in professional career. The above aspects and several more are all covered in corporate training courses and professional training on communication skills and personality development for professional individuals. I recommend highly of Global Academy of Consulting and Training or Global ACT, who are the trendsetters of most innovative techniques incorporated in their training systems and hence, adding value to their corporate training programs. The participants are greatly benefited as for their personal fulfillment of learning and improving their chances of career growth. The global ACT offers custom-based and specific need-based soft skills training to its valued client organizations keeping in mind the enhancement of professional skills of the trainees as their prime focus and ultimate goal.

These training programs have a number of corporate trainers on various categories of learning like Communication skills, Leadership skills, behavioral skills, Negotiation skills, Presentation skills, and several others. Such soft skills training not only makes one aware of the business environment dynamics but also makes learning the codes of ethics required for different professional situations or conditions.

As a matter of fact, training in communication would be around 2 or 3 months when an employee goes outside like coaching classes. That span of coaching would not help them attain perfect communicator designation. But training in communication helps them to

Know the basics of communication: With the basics taught by the professor would help them to understand the general level of communication so that they can develop by themselves.

They teach ways to communicate effectively: At this point, it can be said, that they teach an individual how to improve their communication effectively and what are some ways to communicate effectively.

They organize: It’s very important to join classes because once a person has completed your course they organize some sessions and exams with that they can know up to which level their communication ability is when compared with other people. This helps them to concentrate better to improve your speaking skills.

Communication is not about only speaking; Yes.it’s not about only speaking but listening, thinking and confidence. In training sessions they gonna teach you how to be more confident and they organize some seminars so that you could gain confidence in public.

Lastly crowd: There will be so many people in the training sessions. Interacting with them improves an individual’s communication ability than learning continuously. These training sessions can only teach an employee up to some extent but communication skill is a constant learning process

Personal Development

Personal development is also a big factor that helps in the improvement of communication skills. This factor not only develops the professional communication skills but also the skills of conveying the messages at a personal level. Some of the factors that help in the enhancement of personal development are:

Talk to strangers. Pick one every day and talk to them about their lives, their ambitions, everything that they are comfortable telling you.

Talk to yourself every day. The more crystal clear you are internal, the more clarity it will exhibit during your outside dialogues.

Take feedbacks, especially from girls. They have the ability to judge a guy on a lot of fundamental traits. Be ready to consume some negative stuff too.

Dress well and as per the occasion. Dress something which comforts you and not the eyes of others.

Propose/ask a girl out eye to eye. This might be chivalrous and hence give a try after giving a good thought at it.

Listen to a lot of great personalities. Gradually, you will pick their traits and improvement will begin to show up.

Do 20 push-ups every day. This way you will have broad shoulders. Broad shoulders exude a lot of confidence.

Read, read and read. Cannot state the importance of this life-changing habit.

Be polite while dealing with people.

Smile wholeheartedly, it attracts a lot of forces towards you.

Do mirror speaking, envisage as if you are delivering a speech to a large gathering or mentoring a group of young folks. It will help you in accepting yourself with all the visible flaws.

Write your random musings in a diary. This helps in cleaning the upper space which eventually gives you more clarity. And yes, a clear mind translates into good communication skills.

Teach a few nearby kids every day. The best way to improve communication is to let others agree with your method of learning.

Dance with all the emotions and expressions. When you move your feet in correspondence to the underlying emotions in the song, it provides you manifold benefits.

Participate. Participate a lot and you will see its intangible benefits afterward.

Take balanced and healthy diet. Avoid food that your body is not prone to adopt.

Do a lot of public speaking/extempore. I have gained a great deal of confidence by doing this. And I still keep doing it.

Lastly, rub off the assumption that a good personality means a bulky, curvaceous body. No, it is not that way. Rub off the misconception that speaking fluent English is a sign of good communication skills. Build a pleasing personality, be a person in front of whom people find comfort and feel good talking to. Become a communicator who can describe the complex theories of physics in layman language (Kearney-Nunnery, 2015).

Professional Development

Professional development of an employee also leaves a great impact on the communication skill exhibited buy them in their professional setup or organization. If an employee of Best Buy is developed in terms of professional learning, they can prove to be extremely beneficial for their job, as well as their organization, i.e, Best Buy. The professional development doe not only provides a smooth career trajectory for an employee but also helps them present their opinions, values, and thoughts to their seniors, peers, colleagues, and juniors. Here are some tips that can be used to develop an employee not only in Best Buy but at any organization:

1. An employee should be very clear what they want from their life, their organization, and their profession. They should know exactly where they are headed and who they want to be as a person - their beliefs, values and their truth.2. They should live your truth but do so in such a way as to not cause harm to others physically and emotionally.3. A person should listen to others so that they can learn who they are, what they feel about things and why. Never just listen so that they can reply - listen so that they can learn.4. An employee should speak truthfully, but with compassion and consideration for others at all times, as they are not them and may not share your beliefs. Ason should always keep in mind that their beliefs are not globally right - they are just right for their own selves.5. A person should ensure that they spend their time and energy on and with people that help them evolve as a person. If a person has people in their life who just bring drama and problems that they don't need, and they do not want to change. The employee should remove them from their life (gently for them) and live their truth.6. An employee at Best Buy should be trained to do all this with a smile and as much unconditional love for people as a person can.

Conclusion

In a nutshell, it is evident from all the above details that how important communication skills are in a person’s daily life. The importance of communication skills multiplies to many folds when they are applied in the case of an organizational setup. These communication skills that are applied and used in the case of an organizational setup are known as professional communication. The professional communication skills help an employee in order to understand the culture and the environment of the organization. There are many factors that impact the process of professional communication like education, training, personal development, professional development, etc. These skills can be enhanced with the help of various practices and can help a diverse organization like Best Buy to reach heights of skies.

The comprehensive background information of this project of the company explains that Melanie Malone is passionate to enhance the business domain in the form of infant formula with the main focus on the natural products in the new market. It is utmost crucial for the department to critically scrutinize the existing situation concerning the perspectives of best candidate and most appropriate location to achieve the purpose of enlargement of the company’s business.

The consultant leader considers Sloan Jessie as one of the options of suitable candidates for the job position of manager for the organization of Biotech. It is worthy to mention that the information provided by the Sloan Jessie in her resume was quite impressive that ultimately make it essential for the consultant to ruminate her for the job. Her working experience as a manager is one positive point for her as it is identified by the leader of the consultant group that she has a good reputation as the manager who has the ability to manage all the workers effectively and efficiently (McGregor, 1960). She might be considered as the good option when it comes to the adequate decision-making regarding offering operations of new infant formula products. The less likely feature about the phenomenon of considering Sloan as the suitable candidate is that she never has enough marketing experience that might hinder the successful strategic perspective about the idea of market expansion of organization through product enhancement.

Maddie Cooper

Maddie Cooper is another possible option for the job position of manager in a new location with the focus of offering infant product industry. Initially, the major task for the leader of the consultant group is to adopt the method of screening and critical assessment criteria to make inferences about the alignment between the competencies of Maddie Cooper and the desired managerial features set by Melanie for the main idea of presenting infant product by the organization of Biotech in the new business market. Maddie Cooper has a great form of working experience when it comes to the effective products recognized as mid-sized infant formula. In her resume, Maddie clearly mentioned that as the regional director for Asia, she has better knowledge and experience about the local markets of China and Malaysia. It is one critical aspect for the leader of the consultant group to consider in the selection process because she has enough understanding about the legal compliance and regulations of the potential Asian markets (Mayo, 1933). Another crucial aspect about the working approach of Maddie is that she never consider the idea of sustainability and green product as much important when it comes to the objective of development of infant product industry.

Bentley Hughes

Referring to the idea of organic infant products than Bentley Hughes is one suitable name to consider. Adequate research work done by group lead of consultant indicates that he has a better understanding of the natural products used for the infants. It is crucial to consider that recently Bentley Hughes and Pam take over their positions in the organization of Biotech as Director of Operations. It is interesting to monitor and take a decision that whether Bentley has enough experience to effectively run a new division of business for the company. His previous knowledge and domain of leadership might be significant to properly and successfully attain the new venture of business planned by the company.

The prior discussion with Bentley is also crucial for the group leader of consultant in the entire process of selecting the best candidate for the managerial position and refer to Melanie. During the discussion, Bentley comes up with the belief that he is capable enough to effectively handle the Asian market as he has a feasible form of understanding about this region. He presented the idea that he is one suitable option as the manager for the new division of business because he acclaimed himself as the leader who has the potential to manage business operations effectively. He perceived his cultural awareness of the Asian region as an edge for him to refer him as the suitable entity for the managerial role in Asia planned by the company of Biotech.

Selection of Best Candidate

Now it is a critical phase for the leader of the consultant group to select one best candidate from the potential three candidates for the job position of manager for the new division in Asia planning by the company of Biotech. This specific stage is critical for the leader of the consultant group because it requires to provide significant intervention and consultation to Melanie. Knowledge about all the candidates indicates that all the three individuals have different forms of working specializations in various working domains. It is feasible to briefly consider the major working abilities of all candidates before taking a decision about the best candidate for the company of Biotech.

The most striking aspect of Sloan Jessie as the candidate for the manager of the new division is that she is committed to work according to the core values and traditions of Biotech and expands its domain of business by adopting the idea of sustainable production. Twenty-five-year working experience in the field of mid-sized infant industry and the significant marketing domain are the two salient features in case of Maddie Cooper. She has enough form of market understanding of the Asian region which is the main concern for Biotech. Bentley Hughes is the third option as the possible best candidate for the new venture of business expansion designed by the management of Biotech. The most prominent aspect of Bentley Hughes as fit for the job position of manager is that he has an appropriate form of knowledge about the decision-making process which is one main form of the requirement by the company.

Critical assessment of the potential attributes and capabilities of all the candidates make it easy for the leader of the consultant group to select the most appropriate or best candidate from these three applicants for the managerial position. Pat successful domains of leadership and appropriate handling of operations make Bentley Hughes as the best candidate for the position of management for the new division of infant product industry. He has enough knowledge about the natural products referring to the idea of infant manufacturing expansion by the company. The vast experience of Bentley Hughes as the leader can be extensively effective for the organization to lead a new division in the Asian market. It is also important to mention that he has enough approach to understand the Asian market and launch the products according to the needs of the potential customers.

Best Location

Selection of the most suitable location is one major aspect to attain the desired organizational objectives in the short run and long run. The location of a business can be an important factor in its success. It is essential to cautiously assess the right environment for a particular business. Each business has unique requirements and priorities that should be considered when deciding the location of the business premises. Best location for a business should be a growing business hub, which contains supreme prospects for its growth. Real estate cost must be affordable and meet the needs of a specific business. It is beneficial to gather information about the economic and demographic characteristics of suitable locations. Biotech should need to be aware of their competitors in that area. Additionally, ease of distribution of products to customers, access to affordable labor, sustainable products, and the access to innovative employees are significant factors that one should need to consider as well before selecting a location for their business (Technology and Innovation). Biotech is considering three main location for their manufacturing and distribution plant. These locations include Malaysia, China, and the United States.

Malaysia

Malaysia as a diverse market with a very favorable environment for the distribution and sales of Infant formula products. With a population of more than 31.62 million, the birth rate is 2.04 births per woman, which serves as a significantly promising factor for Biotech to establish its manufacturing and distribution plant. Before establishing a business plant in Malaysia, the manufacturer of the infant formula products needs to keep the following elements in mind

The cost of commercial or industrial property in Malaysia is higher as compared to the residential property. The rates may range from Malaysian Ringgit RM 19100000 to RM 5300000. Furthermore, the investor will have to pay a down payment of 20% by getting a loan of 80% of the total cost of the property. Environmental degradation is one of the most serious threats being faced by our planet recently. Biotech takes the cleanliness and safety of the environment very seriously and plans to introduce green products in the Malaysian market which will benefit both humans and nature. It has been found out that environmental degradation is also a rising concern in Malaysia as well and most of the Malaysian consumers are ready to pay premium pricing for green products.

Malaysia, being a populous country, is an excellent market for the establishment of an industry. People in Malaysia are highly educated and equipped with technical knowledge as well. But with the high unemployment rate of 3.30%, people are ready to settle for less competent jobs as well. The cost of labor is suitable with wages ranging from 1100 MYR/ Month to 3633 MYR/Month; the minimum wage in manufacturing can start from 1000 MYR/Month. Hence, the availability of cheap labor will not be an issue for an investor while establishing and industry. Being a developed country, the infrastructure in Malaysia is very well-structured. The network of roads, highways, and bridges is well –planned, and it is feasible for the company to collect raw material from various sources like farmers and dairy farms. The qualities of sound and well-structured infra-structure also come in use here, as it plays a significant part in carrying the finished products from the manufacturing plant to the end consumer. Taking the help of a high-end supply chain, Biotech can efficiently distribute its products in major cities like Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, and Johor Bauru. Both land and air routes can be used as the road network, and airplanes are well developed and business-friendly. The end products can easily be distributed to the superstores and big marts, from where the consumers can purchase them at their convenience.

As explained earlier, Malaysia is country thriving with a highly-skilled and well-educated workforce, who can contribute significantly to the progress and promotion of the infant formula product manufacturer. Being well-educated, this workforce can come up with innovative ideas which can help Biotech to introduce something new in the market and stand out among all its competitors. The most suitable locations for the initiation of a manufacturing and distribution plant can be Ipoh, Kota Bharu, and George Town as these are very important industrial cities and the access to resources and technology is easy in these locations as compared to the other sites. The availability and transportation of raw material will also be much convenient at such a place.

China

It is noteworthy to mention that the Chinese manufacturing is a practice that the United States and other international businesses have acknowledged in the recent few years. China has become an indispensable to prosperous manufacturing as it’s utilized by some of the prominent brands. The need for an economical overseas manufacturing rises due to the increase in domestic prices. Since the inception of China manufacturing, their manufacturing capabilities have continued to grow. China has more than 100 million total employees in the manufacturing sector. Whereas, the United States has only 17 million manufacturing employees. The cost variance among manufacturing in China and manufacturing domestically is momentous (Fogel, 2010). It is obvious that shipping and duties along with costs of manufacturing domestically are real challenge. Manufacturing in China is cheaper as compared to most of the nations. Labor minimum wages are less as compared to most of the countries which give Biotech an edge to prosper in China. There is a higher overhead for domestic manufacturers with high turnover and steep training costs. Overseas manufacturing has become ideal in China as it provide affordability in real estate.

China is one of the most exciting places to be for an entrepreneur. It has a huge reserve of highly trained labor. Therefore, China has a right pool of labor for Biotech to place its manufacturing and distribution plants. In order to increase the number of skilled labors, China has pledged to improve their vocational education. Outsourcing to China will give Biotech an opportunity to access factory’s cheap labor (Fogel, 2010). Minimum wages are lower in China as compared to other nations which attract many businessman to establish their work in that country. Hence, businesses such as Biotech can easily avail these cheap labors and prosper in that country which significant profit margin. China also has higher production capabilities as it produce goods for the global economy. Due to this, the manufacturing capabilities of China has increased beyond anyone’s expectation. Biotech will get an advantage while outsourcing to China, because China has the capability to produce quality products. China is an eco-friendly country and it welcome those businesses, whose products are manufactured without any hazard to the environment. Strict rules and regulations regarding environment will not affect the business of Biotech. It will be a great location for Biotech as its infant formula products are green products. China is also a suitable place for Biotech due to rising Chinese consumers (Fogel, 2010). Biotech’s infant formula products will get maximum consumers due to the large population of China. Chinese are more concerned about the health of their infants due to which they are willing to buy those products that have no side effects and are pure natural. The urbanization in China accelerates due to which consumer spending increases. Moreover, China has a well-organized road infrastructure that will help Biotech to distribute their products from manufacturing field.

United States

The United States is unmistakably a prominent business player as it is an economic and political powerhouse. United States contains diverse cultures, ethnicities, races, and religions which mean that there is no stereotypical ‘American’. For Americans, time is money. Punctuality is an essential factor in America, so deadlines are strictly adhered. The US prizes qualities such as self-reliance, personal achievements, independence, and initiative (Shenkar, Luo & Chi, 2014). This means that the US contains valuable and hardworking employees. However, Biotech should keep in mind that the overall living standard in the United States is higher as compared to other countries. Minimum wages are also higher in the US due to its increased economic growth. Therefore, Biotech will have to give more wages to employees which can affect their profit margin. Another important factor that Biotech should consider is improved public perception in the US. People living in the US have high literacy rates which means that they are more interested in getting knowledge about different stuff. Distribution of products is a major problem for a company as distribution cost often affect their profit margin. However, in the United States, distribution costs are less in comparison to other nations. Biotech can get advantage from distribution factor in the US in order to thrive their products in the market. There are lot of innovative workers in the United States due to the rise in technology. Advancement in technology also makes production cost less problematic (Shenkar, Luo & Chi, 2014). Automated machinery is used for many manufacturing plants. The United States has increase environmental pollution regardless of having environmental laws. Therefore, the establishment of manufacturing plant in the United States will be a significant question over its production of the green products. People of the US are usually more concern about their health. There are many internet users in the US, who are well-aware about different aspects of health of their children. They have improved perception in comparison to other countries which will provide Biotech an edge to flourish in the US by establishing their manufacturing plant.

Selection of Best Location

Now it is a critical phase for the leader of the consultant group to select one best location from Malaysia, China, and the United States for the establishment of manufacturing and distribution plant. Cost to acquire real estate, ease of distribution of manufacturing products to the plant, green products, and affordable and skilled labor are critical factors to select one location. All important factors are considered before taking a decision about best location as companies’ success will relay on these factors. Factor deep analysis of three potential locations, the leader of the consultant group is willing to select China as the best location for establishing its manufacturing and distribution plant of infant formula product. China has affordable real estate prices as compared to other two countries. Economical prices of real estate can be effective for Biotech to establish its manufacturing plant without spending much money to buy an area for its plant. Additionally, China has cheap labor in comparison to other two countries. Labor market economics decide labor’s wage. The price of the wages goes down, when supply of labor exceeds demand for labor. China’s population is approximately 1.386 billion, so the supply of labor exceeds there. Therefore, the labor cost is cheap in China which can be beneficial for Biotech to make progress. Overseas manufacturing has become ideal in China as it provide affordability in real estate. The manufacturing capabilities of China has increased beyond any one’s expectation which make it a suitable location to launch manufacturing plant.

Blockchain Technology in the Auditing Profession

Introduction

The awareness and comprehension of the potential impact of technological advancement is critical to the success and growth of the auditing profession. The essence of the blockchain technology lies at the very heart of constructing a digital mechanism to engage in secure transactions with a comprehensive trust in the integrity of assets being exchanged. Blockchain technology is equipped with the potential to bring exquisite opportunities and profound challenges to the audit and assurance profession. The approach of the auditor may change while the traditional services may remain imperative. As the auditing profession is advancing in the contemporary age, data analytics and artificial intelligence and audit progression in automation, the blockchain technology can have potential impacts on the manner auditors execute the engagement of their operations ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"v2iZFIbJ","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(\\uc0\\u8220{}Blockchain might remake accounting. The opportunities are huge.” 2017). However, its existence of the master ledger comprises several grave challenges. The cost and efficiency challenges are the primary threats that arise while implementing the blockchain technology by the organizations. It requires an integrated team under the supervision of major stakeholders to implement the blockchain systematically.

Challenges Faced While Implementing Blockchain Technology

Scalability is a major impediment for the current blockchain implementation which makes it challenging for the application of technology to critical applications as payments. For instance, the transactions processed per second by VISA exceed 1,667. The colossal amount of energy and electricity required to implement blockchain can only be afforded by large scale organizations. To enable next-generation technologies like artificial intelligence and blockchain, organizations are advancing to explore innovative techniques to establish processors which deliver efficient performance and operate profoundly. Architecture innovation proves productive to address architectural innovations and enhanced management of power and resources ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"8Q1k6xjy","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(\\uc0\\u8220{}Ia Online Home,\\uc0\\u8221{} n.d.)","plainCitation":"(“Ia Online Home,” n.d.)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":289,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/h6KbaPMu/items/ZBE7VTEI"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/h6KbaPMu/items/ZBE7VTEI"],"itemData":{"id":289,"type":"webpage","title":"Ia Online Home","URL":"https://iaonline.theiia.org/","accessed":{"date-parts":[["2019",4,6]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (“Ia Online Home,” n.d.). Several experts of digital technology have asserted that relying on blockchain technology heavily these days is an irrational approach. A critical appraisal of the dependency of organizations on blockchain technology reflects these are the early days and organizations can witness a paradigm shift with the passage of time. The economic ventures across the organizations can be revolutionized by balancing the playing field irrespective of the economic status of the participants.

Furthermore, data privacy is the other fundamental challenge. It is, meanwhile, the greatest competitive advantage harnessed by the blockchain technologies after the decentralization of the operations management. If an organization proceeds to partner with another organization by joining a blockchain based solution, the intricacies involved in the matter can manifest detrimental consequences for both the organization. Both competitors can have access to data through distributed ledger. The leverage can be either processed or lost by both the organizations under such critical circumstances. Thus, it remains a contentious debate about whether organizations should collaborate on such platforms or not. Mainstreaming the technological framework urges the corporations to explore a potential solution to the complexities involved in data sharing and manipulation.

Fundamental Stakeholders

Likewise, there exist several critical stakeholders in the organization and smooth implementation of the blockchain networks. A comprehensive analysis of the stakeholders that execute the ecosystem will not only offer a critical apprehension of the nature of blockchain operations but also permit the organizations to assess their potential for sustainable growth. First, the architect of the blockchain plays an instrumental role. The architect assumes the onus to design and be responsible for the architecture. In large organizations and business operations, regulating the processes is a crucial factor. The blockchain regulator advances to attain the broader access of the content of the ledgers and is endowed with the entire authority of the network. Besides, the user of the business interacts with the blockchain through an application. It is essential to highlight the role of the blockchain developers the major stakeholders involved in the process. Their primary aspirations are the smart contracts and applications and supervising the manner of the interaction among ledger and several integrated components ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"19BBPq0c","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(\\uc0\\u8220{}Blockchain Preparation Audit Program,\\uc0\\u8221{} n.d.)","plainCitation":"(“Blockchain Preparation Audit Program,” n.d.)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":292,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/h6KbaPMu/items/RY9WEH4F"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/h6KbaPMu/items/RY9WEH4F"],"itemData":{"id":292,"type":"webpage","title":"Blockchain Preparation Audit Program","URL":"http://www.isaca.org/Knowledge-Center/Research/ResearchDeliverables/Pages/Blockchain-Preparation-Audit-Program.aspx","accessed":{"date-parts":[["2019",4,6]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (“Blockchain Preparation Audit Program,” n.d.). The blockchain operator monitors the network of the blockchain. Every business in the network comprises a network operator. The essential interests of the administrator are the operations management and deployment of the blockchain.

These stakeholders and several minor stakeholders constituting the paradigm of the strategic blockchain implementation are persistently changing with the emergence of new stakeholders. However, it is evident the technology causes the business industry to witness critical changes. For instance, it triggers organizational disruption and societal decentralization. Blockchain has introduced a potential platform to establish innovative markets that never existed before. This is an explicit illustration of the robust technological advancement where technology is harnessed to secure data and operate processes as smart contracts in a secure and decentralized cryptographical environment. The advent of the blockchain technology was vested in the cryptocurrencies. After assessing the true potential of the blockchain network, organizations strived to explore worthy means to incorporate and integrate it into their operations and network systems.

Conclusion

The manifestations of artificial intelligence have contributed to offer flexibility and sustainability towards the professions of auditing. However, the paradigm shift has been triggered by the blockchain technologies. The decentralization of data causes the organization to face grave challenges and intricate impediments while implementing the blockchain technology in an integrated manner. The stakeholders of the blockchain technology are the crucial players involved in administering the network of the blockchain. The bottom line is that it is significantly aiding the operations of business pertinent to data sharing, security, advancement and transactions.

Management is the Pursuit of Flexibility

Blog 1

Flexibility in management has gained significant attention in the past few years. Managers are expected to be dynamic and influential and creativity is expected in management in every sector, especially the service sector, including tourism and hospitality. Brandon-Jones and fellows studied the managerial challenges of professional services i.e. consultancy with respect in the tourism and hospitality industry in the US. The data collected by researchers coincide with the notion that professional services should be at the behest of customers in the tourism and hospitality industry ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"JF8lQKxd","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(Brandon-Jones, Lewis, Verma, & Walsman, 2016)","plainCitation":"(Brandon-Jones, Lewis, Verma, & Walsman, 2016)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":142,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/rhLtY1cq/items/5WPQ9L3W"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/rhLtY1cq/items/5WPQ9L3W"],"itemData":{"id":142,"type":"article-journal","container-title":"Journal of operations management","page":"9-24","title":"Examining the characteristics and managerial challenges of professional services: An empirical study of management consultancy in the travel, tourism, and hospitality sector","volume":"42","author":[{"family":"Brandon-Jones","given":"Alistair"},{"family":"Lewis","given":"Michael"},{"family":"Verma","given":"Rohit"},{"family":"Walsman","given":"Matthew C."}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["2016"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Brandon-Jones, Lewis, Verma, & Walsman, 2016). When it comes to professional services in the tourism industry, based on the challenges occurred in the past 20 years, a contingent perspective is needed to mitigate the managerial challenges. Some of the managerial challenges highlighted in the study include the effective application of technologies to support intra- and inter-firm cooperation. The study suggests consulting firms and manages in travel, tourism and hospitality industry must not rely on the traditional operations management approaches, thus demonstrating the need for more contingent perspective. As Quinn et al. (2015) state the need of creating value in any industry, using the most contingent approach will help eliminate the challenges faced by managers in professional service pertaining to tourism and hospitality.

Clustering is a technique of putting together similar organizations in terms of their potential attractiveness for the tourists. Clustering is an innovative approach and this study aimed at exploring its effectiveness for the development of the Caribbean as a sustainable tourist destination. The effectiveness of this tool is linked with its ability to bring about flexibility in management at Caribbean ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM CSL_CITATION {"citationID":"zzzIl5eL","properties":{"formattedCitation":"(S\\uc0\\u233{}raphin et al., 2018)","plainCitation":"(Séraphin et al., 2018)","noteIndex":0},"citationItems":[{"id":143,"uris":["http://zotero.org/users/local/rhLtY1cq/items/PMDTS3DG"],"uri":["http://zotero.org/users/local/rhLtY1cq/items/PMDTS3DG"],"itemData":{"id":143,"type":"article-journal","container-title":"Journal of Destination Marketing & Management","page":"384-388","title":"Tourism planning and innovation: The Caribbean under the spotlight","volume":"9","author":[{"family":"Séraphin","given":"Hugues"},{"family":"Gowreesunkar","given":"Vanessa"},{"family":"Roselé-Chim","given":"Paul"},{"family":"Duplan","given":"Yves Jamont Junior"},{"family":"Korstanje","given":"Maximiliano"}],"issued":{"date-parts":[["2018"]]}}}],"schema":"https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json"} (Séraphin et al., 2018). Both the clusters and the tourism industry are ambidextrous. Ambidextrous management has been deemed as being sustainable, innovative and leading to success in tourism management. Despite the fact that clustering as a tool is one of the most effective approaches, yet it is not considered as "one size fits all" approach. According to Quinn et al. (2015), flexibility in tourism has resulted in significant advantages; it is not entirely possible to rely on one single approach as a panacea. Thus, the study supports the idea of Quinn calling for each destination to stick to its authenticity and it is the factor that creates a pull effect for a tourist destination.

Every company that produces grooming products behind their hair strives to get as much interest in the product range as possible. Everyone has the best shampoo that makes your hair look like damaged, fallen, thin hair. What are the criteria you need to consider choosing the best shampoo? The right decision depends on the health of your scalp, shine curls, filament smoothness. Unfortunately, it is certainly difficult to say that hair products for a particular company are right for you. Before making a purchase, you need to determine the Hair Type and examine their condition. It is impossible to wash your head continuously with the same remedy as the condition of the hair and scalp varies depending on the processes in the body.
