I think the main cause of flawed transmission problem in Ford is as a result of poor management. Management involves the coordination of various activities in an organization to attain particular goals. It entails the creation of corporate policy, planning, controlling, and organizing in addition to giving direction on the resources of the organization to attain a given target. Therefore, every activity taking place in an organization is overseen by the manager or the top leadership of the organization. These activities have to be approved by the managers for them to take place. Low quality of products that do not satisfy the requirements of the customers is as a result of the poor management of activities taking place in various parts of the production process. As a result, flawed transmission resulted because of inefficient testing techniques which resulted from poor management.
The top leadership of an organization has a significant impact on the variance of employee engagement. They, therefore, influence the performance of employees in an organization. The managers would have realized the best process for their team by even empowering and enabling the strengths for their team. The problem also would have resulted due to the inappropriate unchronological strategies because they would have resolved the transmission first before the Focus and Fiesta got to be launched (Organizational Problems The Root Cause Fix to Your Biggest Problems, n.d.). I also think that lack of assurance quality was because the managers did not consider the priority of the companys reputation.
Managers of an organization are always required to set the tone on how other employees treat their customers. The employees, therefore, ignored the negative impacts that the transmission caused to the clients because the leadership did not act as example (Fords Transmission Problem Ford Transmission Problems Presented by Stern Law, PLLC, n.d.). The managers were the root cause of the problem because they had the authority of even replacing the transmission control module besides hiring other technical teams that would have improved the Fiesta carpet floor.
In conclusion, managers have a more significant impact on every activity taking place in an organization. The success of an organization, therefore, depends on the hands of the managers as they also influence the performance level of employees.
