Introduction
In today’s market, the strength of a company depends on how well a company is run. It is, therefore, appropriate for a company to look into its internal process to deal with any internal challenges. The success of the business also depends on how efficiently those challenges are managed. The objective is to work smarter when faced with challenges to solve the problem and also create a growth path for a business. Therefore, the internal processes are essential in creating and delivering value to a company. The internal processes must, therefore, include how a company intended to achieve the objectives set for it achieve. It can, therefore, help a company to analyze its weakness and strength and as a result, a company improves the effectiveness of its operation.
The internal process of a company is based on the strengths of an organization. Chipotle has strong financial status and market share and therefore, it efficiently address its internal problems. The problem is also related to the decision-making process, which has been used to arrive at various decisions. The competitive market requires collaborations and understanding among the key stakeholders. It helps to derive at appropriate decision hence better performance and profitability. According to Sousa, Galante Porto, Takenouchi, and Marcatonio (2015), the process of identification of decision is meant to ensure that various methods are considered and this is helpful in limiting or reducing the chances of making a decision under the influence of any actions or events. In most cases, it is required to look into the alternative of various issues before deciding on the best decision For instance, in order for Chipotle to expand to India various issues were considered before that decision was made. First, market research was conducted to determine the viability of the market. Based on the report, the decision was done based on the benefit the company would obtain if it invested in India. This is a clear testimony of the importance of the decision-making process. It limits the risk because several options were weighed before a single decision was made. It would be important for Chipotle to improve its communication techniques to connect with the customers.
Chipotle's Contamination Crisis
Recently, Chipotle has received a number of complaints regarding its food safely. Some clients have a complaint about various issues after taking a meal from the restaurant. It is, therefore, evident that the hotel has some serious issues with its food safety. There are several cases of foodborne illness and therefore, appropriate action needed to be taken. Besides other challenges which are threatening the existence of the company, it was found that E. coli outbreak. It has made sustainability of the restaurant to be very difficult. It is likely that the foodstuffs are affected by the supply and therefore, addressing the problem with the supply chain would be able to have a permanent solution to the problem. The delivery process is long and therefore, some items have expired but used without mind. A change is required and the restaurant must have a strong policy regarding food safety. The stand of operations must be set in the kitchen and other services.
In order to solve the problem, the root cause must be illustrated and various methods are used to solve it. The problem is that the chemical used by farmers who supply the foodstuff has a certain chemical which has been causing the problem CITATION Pet18 \l 1033 (Chisambara, 2018). However, the problem could be solved by ensuring that Chipotle changes the supplier of foodstuff and contract a new firm to supply the food chain with the products its need. The main focus should be to get a new supplier who would be able it make supply as required and does not have a problem related to E. coli CITATION Ric14 \l 1033 (Patterson, 2014). The supply should come directly farmers to avoid experiencing challenges related to E. coli. It means that the products supplied by the earlier contractor have stayed for so long and therefore the client can easily take and it will turn out to be poison.
In order to solve the problem, Chipotle must act fast and hire a quality assurance professional to address the problem of quality assurance. The quality assurance should be hired because of the need to ensure that all the food meets the quality standard in place CITATION Rog19 \l 1033 (Rogers & LaVito, 2019). The quality assurance should focus on the method of production, the kind of technology used and factors, which can help to address the problem it is facing from the client. The chipotle problem would also be by also improving the marketing of the company’s services to get clients back after the crisis. The company should accept the problem and owned it. This makes people take the hotel serious when addressing the issue to do with healthy food.
In conclusion, Chipotle has a strong market share and therefore, it can address its challenges if it changes the logistics procedures and getting new suppliers. Since the problem was due to bad products from some of its supplier, which could be a result of the poor logistic method, changing supplier and logistics would help the company to address the problem. It is also important to hire quality assurance to check the quality of products being supplied the suppliers. It would be helpful in addressing the problem related to food poison, which has affected the company.
