Subject: Review of new Safety policies
There have been three incidents in the last year when our operational staff has narrowly escaped fatal accidents. This has prompted me to address this issue because you play an important part in communicating policies from higher management to the lower staff. You also communicate concerns of lower staff to the top management. This memorandum will help you in understanding the whole set of policies in a better way and specifically improve your knowledge of responsibilities pertaining to you.
These policies have been developed after thorough research by our Safety Guideline Committee. Responsibilities pertaining to you are as under:
All middle level managers are expected to read the fresh safety guidelines thoroughly and clear any confusion that they face with me or with any member of the committee.
On a quarterly basis, you will send a report to the top management regarding the extent to which your supervisors are implementing these safety guidelines in true spirit.
You will check if all safety prerequisites have been fulfilled before the start of any new project.
On six-monthly basis, managers will have to make sure that all staff working under them is given refresher training on safety principles.
To make sure that all staff members know the importance of safety issues, there will be a clear requirement in job description of supervisors and assembly workers which will state that they know basics of safety principles.
You will assess the level of expertise of your supervisor and assembly workers by observing their work on weekly basis. Any discrepancies may be noted and rectified as soon as possible.
In case of any accident, provide medical treatment to the affected employee and an accident report should be generated for director of personnel and safety management committee CITATION Pet16 \l 1033 (W.Cardon, 2016).
